Faragi rooms are budget accommodation, with decent facilities, superb location and great hospitality. Rooms 2 and 10 offer great sea view too! What makes the difference, though, is the warm hospitality of the owner, Nektarios, and his wife that keep this place and the reastaurant downstairs running all day with a warm smile and authentic cretan hospitality like the old times. This is the second year I visited Faragi rooms and hopefully next year I’ll make it back. Agia Roumeli is highly underrated, given it’s considered a quick stop after hiking through the gorge. For me, it’s my little paradise for relaxation, deep sleep, and good food!

Great hospitality, clean and comfortable rooms, seaview and a great restaurant for breakfast

Very tasty food. Friendly staff. Loved the raki and the stuffed zucchini flowers. Amazing view of Agia Roumeli beach. We went there after the Samaria gorge hiking. Service was very quick and the food was perfectly cooked. Worth a visit if you are in Agia Roumeli.

Amazing food and service

We had a good meal with local products. It was delicious, tasty, and fresh.
We didn't stay for a night, so we didn't sleep over, we just had a meal.
The people serving the food were very nice and upon leaving the restaurant we got a bottle of local olive oil.

Nice meal after hiking in the Samaria clove

Faragi restaurant is the place to eat and relax with a drink after the fantastic Samaria gorge route! I had fresh octopus, grilled to perfection garnished with fresh salad and sote potatoes. Ouzo was coolingly chill. You sit under a tree with a full view of the sea from this restaurant! Perfect. Upon payment I was quoted the correct price and chose to leave a tip as is customary in these parts.

Excellent meal and service

Absolutely lovely service, everyone is nice and weloming. Food was really tasty, mostly fresh calamari and lamb. If you have a chance to visit, I highly recommend. View is amazing. It is worth to visit.

Taverna

We visited here just for ice cream. The ice cream itself was fine, but the experience was awful. I wanted to pay by card, so the lady who served us called another waiter, who said ‘8 euros’, I’d walked into where the card machine was, the man took my card, used contactless and then after said ‘10 euros’. The price wasn’t advertised so we have no idea what the real price would have been, but I walked away feeling really quite swizzed.

It's every couple of years that we deliberately choose to come to Aghia Roumeli in order to relax at Faragi. We hardly know other places there but we can definitely say that if you compare similar rooms and similar meals with other places in Crete, the Faragi turns out to be much over the average.

For ex., they regularly invest in their rooms while their room prices remain more or less the same. The food is excellent and abundant. Ask also for many veggie options they have. And last but not least their hospitality is mythical and is hardly beaten by others.

All together, if you have the choice, you can't do wrong staying at their premise.

One of the brothers, Nektarios, who runs the daily business, always told me "first people, then money" and I can only confirm his attitude. It is always a huge pleasure to stay with them for a couple of days.

We have spent arround 3 hours, and we have drink delicious cold beer, traditional Souflaky very tasty, and in the end the sweets too.

Faragi, best place...for eat drink and take rest....

Friendly staff showed me there menu and showed me all the fresh fish they had just caught that morning. I was able to pick out my own fish and the friendly staff were very helpful throughout my meal.
Big portions at good prices! Would recommend if closeby.
