Fabulous two bed room with pretty balcony overlooking lawn swimming pool and the sea.   Fridge Kettle and Nespresso Machine.  room and bathroom cleaned daily and beds made.  Pegs provided to hang towels on balcony and Manager extremely friendly and helpful.

WONDERFUL VISIT TO LOVELY LOCATION

Really nice place - with great accomodation - Linen/towels changed every two days - very clean and quiet
Rooms are decent size with fridge/ cooking equipment and safe

Unfortunately we  had a problem with the swimming pool for the second week.

The first week the pool was crystal clear and very good- no one else using it so it felt like we were in a private garden. Overnight after a storm the pool turned green and murky. Depsite pointing this out to the reception nothing was done to sort this problem out for the last week of our visit so we had no pool at all. We did receive some refund but that is not the point. On a hot day you need the pool. I guess as it was comong up to end of season that they were just not going to bother to do anything about it

BEWARE of hill - most people will need a car or quad bike - 60 yards up at least 45 degrees !

Pros: 
- nice garden
- nice view to the garden, pool and sea
- clean rooms, although dated
- friendly reception and staff
- no coffee machine available in the room, but was provided as a special service to us upon request

Cons: 
- pool unusable due to bad condition of the water during most of our stay
- jaccuzi closed (not usable) during the whole duration of our stay
- price not justified given these shortcomings
- very steep driveway leading up to the hotel, not recommended for elderly/not sporty people/people with heavy luggage, on foot
- transfer to the port after checkout was not provided as a service of the hotel, although this had been expressly confirmed upon booking - we were therefore forced to pay 20 euros for a taxi called by the hotel

Mixed experience

We have stayed here at Margi House about 4 times now and always had a lovely holiday here. Rooms are quite basic but spotlessly clean, thanks to Spiros and his wife, who cleaned the studio everyday with sheets and towels change every 2 days. The views from the studio are just beautiful, down towards Kolios beach and the sea beyond. Woken up to each morning by the daily chorus of Cicadas....thats the Greece we know and love.
So peaceful relaxing by the pool and some days had it all to ourselves.
Thanks again to Pepi and the team for another fabulous stay.

another lovely holiday

It was late in the season so we understood that, but the place felt grubby and a bit desolate. No interaction at all with owners while there, not even a "hello". Strange couple who were looking after the place just argued all day really loud. Not very relaxing. Pool was a bit dirty so we didn't swim in it and the two resident dogs were allowed to sh*t all over the garden. Yuk !

Rough round the edges

Beautiful, peaceful and perfect for a week with my teenage daughters. We wanted a quiet break and got just that.

A lovely guest house with everything we needed. Very clean.

Kitchen facilities were sufficient to do a bit of breakfast and lunch.  We enjoyed trying the many local tavernas in the evening.

Just what we needed

After booking a holiday of a lifetime early in the year and now with the Coronavirus pandemic, our flights were cancelled as Australia has banned international travel.
Requested refund, they said NO but they can reschedule us.  Really!!!! 
All of our other stays in Europe has been cancelled now and fully refunded with no cancellation fess or hesitation except this one.    Shame on you Margi House.

Rude and compassionless

Firstly - the location of Margi House.
Stunning views, almost on a par with staying at a similar property in Koukanaries.
Our room was very clean, and the daily attention to the room from the housekeeper much appreciated.
The beds were extremely comfortable.
Unfortunately, both table-lamp shades were badly damaged, detracting from what was a pleasant room.
We were a little disappointed with the facilities on offer in the small kitchen area but were only using it to cook breakfast.
A non-stick pan would have helped, along with a spatula (we had to use a cake slice to scrape the food off the pan).
A chopping board would also have been appreciated.
Knowing about the steep slope up to the property was not the same as experiencing it.
We didn’t expect it to be so long (or, indeed, so steep).
I only attempted climbing up once – this left me so breathless that I didn’t try again – thank goodness we had hired a car.
We did catch the bus on one occasion, (bus stop very close to the property – very convenient if no hire car), and upon our return from Skiathos town, the taxi driver was happy to deliver us back to our door.
Our main disappointment was the lack of Reception facilities.
We were not greeted by the owners but were left to manage with the assistance of staff with very little knowledge of English.
The owners didn’t appear at any time during the week, which made us feel somewhat undervalued, we were warned the Reception area may not be manned, but we did expect to meet the owners at some point. 
They did text a greeting of welcome, which did not compensate for personal contact.
We were the only guests the week we stayed and had there been an emergency (medical or otherwise), I don’t know how we would have coped.
It was difficult to gain any information – about taxis, or restaurants in the area.
I’m afraid that the description of the property on their website is somewhat optimistic, and the property does NOT contain the following – 
Under ‘Room Comforts’ are listed –
•	Reception Area – (room marked Reception but not manned at any time whilst we were there).
•	Minibar – non-existent
•	Complimentary Coffee & Snacks – where?
And under ‘Hotel Luxuries’ –
•	Concierge Desk – this didn’t exist and is extremely misleading, as explained above.

Having said all that – the staff who were there, were extremely friendly and accommodating.
We holiday in Greece a great deal – with Skiathos being our favourite Island (this was our eighth visit) – and enjoy Greek standards in the spirit that they are offered by the locals.
So - it was a very pleasant stay, clean, nice pool area, absolutely stunning views - but due to its location, we are unlikely to stay again as we like to walk to restaurants and tavernas and enjoy a drink or two, before wandering back.

Great views - Difficult Location

Very lively place with small rooms where there’s anything needed ! Everything’s really clean ! Quiet and peaceful place with a large view from the apartments and the swimming pool ! I definitely recommend it for a couple trip !
I would go back there with pleasure !

Very lovely place 

This is the second time we have stayed at margi house. This time we stayed with friends and family as my son was proposing to his girlfriend. The staff couldn’t have done anymore to make it as special as it was! Mamosa and Jamie went to so much trouble with decorating the room, candles, petals scattered and a bottle of bubbly on ice! The room was perfect and we can not thank them enough! I highly recommend staying at margi house if you visit skiathos, you will not be disappointed! 10/10 for everything!
