Excellent location in the heart of Skiathos shopping area, and I got a very cheap deal with breakfast included (although the breakfast wasn't amazing - bread and spreads, two cereal options, tea and coffee, that's it). Miss Maria at the front desk was very friendly and spoke just enough English. I just needed a room to crash for a cheap price, and this delivered.

Excellent location, excellent value, friendly staff, functional hotel

Pothos Hotel is located in the best restaurant and shopping area in Skiathos. The staff was very helpful and nice.  The outdoor area was great for breakfast.  The reason I rated the hotel a 4/5 and not higher is because the breakfast while included is fine but not great.  And the rooms are very clean but not updated.  From a value perspective the hotel is certainly worth what we paid.  I’d stay again and really like the staff.  

Great staff and location 

Truly I would rate this hotel a 3.5, but trip advisor doesn’t allow it. This hotel had nice staff, clean rooms, good location, and a nice courtyard. I only stayed at this hotel for one night and it wasn’t a bad stay. The beds were slightly uncomfortable and the breakfast wasn’t for me personally but besides that the hotel was not bad. It’s a little older but has charm so it is ok. 

Decent hotel in good location

This hotel is clean and comfortable with a pleasant garden for al fresco dining at breakfast.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Its location in the centre of town makes it very convenient for the restaurants, shops and bars. In spite of this, there is very little noise problem.
It is also quite close to the ferry boats and taxi rank.
Ideal for a night lay-over prior to travelling on.
We recommend this hotel and will no doubt use it again

Great value

The hotel has an excellent location. The rooms are clean, but very old. Maybe why I got bites from insects. The breakfast is boring, but alright quality. 
Compared to the price the hotel is alright, but mostly because of it’s location. Choose this if you are seeking for a cheap bed to sleep in. Not fitting if you want to spend time at the hotel

Good location

Our hotel room was very clean. Everything was perfect and the staff were very kind!!! It was very close to all of the activities!!! My friends and I are coming back here again for sure!!! Thanks Pothos Hotel!!!

Excellent!!!

We stayed at Pothos hotel for five nights in August 2018 for our family summer holidays and we totally enjoyed our stay there. The staff -including the owner Mrs Maria-was friendly, polite and eager to serve and help, as well as to privide information about the island and its beauty. The rooms were nice, clean with a view at the garden or the yard. Breakfast was good. The location of the hotel is very good, just 2 minutes walk from the central paedesrian road, with lots of places around for dinner or for a drink. Despite the the tavernas around, the hotel has no noise and the place is quiet. A very good choice for accomodation, to be recommended to all our friends. PS The hotel will be renovated for next year.

A relaxing accomodation

location is excellent  since it is right the middle of the town. You get the best of two things.You are in the middle of the busy center of the city and at the same time just off the noisy clubs. At the same time you are within a few minutes of walk to the bus stop or the port in order to get transport to any beach you prefer. Actually it is advantageous because you can always get a seat in the bus because you take it at the start of the journey.. The same applies for the return trip, if you choose to go to Koukounaries beach (last bus stop), which is the nicest  anyway. The people taking the bus from hotels situated at intermediate stops are fighting for a seat!
But what i would really like to talk about this hotel is Ms Maria ,the owner who runs the hotel. She is a dynamic lady who knows everybody and everything in town. There was a mix up with my suitcase (my mistake,as i had taken somebody elses suitcase from the bus and i was totally at loss. She made like a thousand phone calls and finally managed to get for me ,my suitcase. What seemed not to be  such a complicated matter it became a nightmare for me because the bus driver was most uncooperative. Actually if it was not for Ms Maria ,i would probably still be looking for my suitcase!!!!!

Pothos is located in the centre of the town and this is a big advantage if you are on an island like Skiathos! You can have easy access to shops, restaurants, cafeterias, old and new harbor in a walking distance. The bus stop for the beaches and the boat taxis are very close to the hotel and you can enjoy yourself without worrying about time tables to catch either of them. That's why we didn't need to rent a car; another advantage! It offers basic breakfast, but it's nice. The hotel's rooms are cute with a touch of tradition, but mainly they are clean!!! The staff is friendly and helpful. It was my third visit to the island and you can't help it when you talk about Skiathos to not mention Pothos Hotel as well!!!

Enjoying Skiathos!

Pothos is in the middle of Skiathos City. 5 min from the harbour. If you plan to come by ferryboat and car you should know that you can´t access the hotel by car. The municipial parking is 10min away. But not that bad. 
reading the other comments I need to correct them: The Hotel is clean, has big rooms, a balcony with enough space, wifi is great in the room first floor and the ladies and the young guy working there are very friendly if you are also friendly to them. The breakfast is typical for greece very basic. The breakfast area outside in the garden is very nice. Why 4 stars and not 5? The A/C and the furniture should be renewed...little bit to old. ;)
