Unfortunately we stayed only two days in this dream country. The room was very large, with a nice bathroom, quiet and very clean. The owner is very hospitable, she let us find fresh grapes from her garden and cookies in the room. Sougia is a wonderful place, the spectacular beach. Also from here we took the bus to visit the Samaria Gulls and we returned by boat.

A paradise

Neat, clean and tidy rooms with a very charming communal garden! The people were very friendly and the even offered us some chocolate cake on arrival. We stayed for 2 days with my better half! Sougia is a nice place overal

Great people excellent stay!

The room is spacious all renovated generous bathroom dry hair and small soaps nice kitchen with the necessities but the mattresses need to be changed home very friendly owners we enjoyed the coffee with the cakes

For one night's play. Good quality price ratio.

What a deplorable picture this very low-end boarding house gives, accompanied by a reception of the most approximate. From the comfortable rooms of the 1960s: the bathroom is the most shouting illustration of this, the kitchen corner is not left out... The legendary and perfectly justified hospitality of the Cretans had to make its way... we almost felt disturbed, that is to say!

Sougia Preserved Resort vs. Ilias Rooms an address to avoid

We had a room here in Sougia for 2 nights and were happy with the standard of the room for the price, 35 euros, which really isn't very much! The room was clean and there was plenty of space.  There were tables outside on a shared balcony and a garden downstairs for shared use. The owners were helpful and friendly and allowed us to store our suitcases in a room downstairs for the afternoon after we had booked out. It would be great for anyone walking any of the gorges.

Probably more accurately described as good

It's not on the main road. It's a dirty little room. It's a bed without sheets. It's a small, painful bathroom.

The best part was we only had to stay one night.

Room/Studio N.2 - First floor. We stayed only one night at the Elias Pension as ours was a short vacation lasting a little over a weekend. Arriving in Chania on Friday, on Saturday morning we reached Paleochora by bus and then walked down Path E4 up to Sougia (passing through Anydri Beach and Lissos). Beautiful excursion, very well marked path and excellent maintenance. Once we arrived at the property, we were greeted by the owners and found the room/room cozy, very bright and clean.

From Paleochora to Sougia - Path E4

We chose this accommodation because of the bus connection to Omalos to start hiking Samaria gorge and then after this hiking there is a direct ferry connection from Agia Roumeli to Sougia. 
The family providing these rooms are very friendly people, they are ready to assist you anytime, we really appreciated their service.
The rooms can seem basic but for us it was totally enough - functional bathroom, good beds, TV, fridge-kitchenette, nice garden view and every room has his own table with chairs in the court or upstairs on the big balcony-terrace. The position in Sougia was good too - close to restaurants, bus stop, beach, everywhere :)
