Returning to this restaurant every visit to Creta because it's simply the best and most honest food. Whether you are a fish crazed connaisseur or just want to enjoy the amazing terrace and spectacular sunset with a spaghetti and mussels, this is your place! Make a reservation because it's busy with locals and tourists.

Superb fish and location

Booked the place for 10 days, as soon as we got there we found out about the fake advertising of the villa. The third room advertised as a double, barely fits a small child with the position of the sharp corner of the shelf perfect to lose an eye when sleeping.
When confronted the owner got extremely violent threatening to kick us all out (against all policies of booking.com). After hearing the owner swearing at us, switching the electricity off and becoming close to physical me and my girlfriend decided to leave. Rather spend double the money than stay and be abused in such way. Vacations ruined, spent lot's of money and the owner got away with advertising the room as double where if the second bed is opened (a child bed with hard wood in the middle of the bed) there is no way to open the balcony window, let alone to even fit a small trolley in the room. Not only that but the sheets given to us had yellow stains, cleanness is quite disappointing. 
Do avoid this place, there are so many other places who don't lie on the rooms and who will not ruin your vacations with verbal violence and threats.

Horrible experience, violent owner. Never again.

Thea Thalassa is actually a 2-villas complex in the location Xirokampi. There's is no any small village or settlement near to the villas. They are bulding in the top of a small hill with ideal view to the whole Platanias village and far away to the open sea! Magical view espacially the nights, time that you can realx in the balconies of the villa. Away from the crowd of Platanias the place is percect to relax. There are parking facilities and also a swimming pool. We select the bigger villa that's perfect for 2 families with 3 bedrooms.

Perfect place to relax

We stayed at this hotel from 1st to 5th of May this year and it was fantastic.  The welcome we got was lovely and the staff could not do enough for you.  The rooms are spacoius and the hotel is right on the beach front.  The food is lovely and the breakfast is great.  We had fresh salmon and bubbly.  Lots to see and do in the local area and some great local restaurants.  We cannot wait to be going back in September for another break.  I would recommend the local train tour that has lots of trips on a daily basis to all different parts of Chania area.  We went on the Olive Oil trip and it was fab.
