Only a few minutes drive away from Leonidio we found this perfect accommodation for our climbing days.
Very friendly, english-speaking owner! She took care of all our needs, asked frequently if everything is alright and gave us a feeling of being home!

Familiar, cosy, perfect for climbers

We stayed in Sampatiki and were made very welcome by the apartment owner, Rena. We had our own transport which we used to rock climb in the area for 12 days. We dropped our bags at the door of the apartment, but chose to park overnight in the public car park 100m away. This avoided negotiating the narrow approach to the apartment parking.
There are 2 parallel sets of adjoining appartments and your view is dependant on which you have. We looked out to the harbour over the tops of other properties nearer the sea.
Facilities are basic and won't suit everyone. There was 1 double and 2 single beds and 2 electric hobs in the equipped  kitchenette. Kettle, coffee maker and sandwich toaster along with pots, pans, plates and cutlery. It was never warm enough to warrant using the air-con and we needed to use all the bedding to be warm at night. Hot water is shared by all apartments and is solar heated. We found it ran out on us if we didn't time our showers correctly.
We ate out 50% of the time and used the supermarket in Leonidio for our provisions.
 Despite some very stormy weather days, this was a very good stay and suitable for our needs.

A good base for rock climbing in the area

We stayed at the small houses for one week. It is comfortable, has everything - from cooking stove to plates and cups. We were pretty comfortable, and the rocks of Leonidio are 5 minutes with car. The owner, Rena, was really, really nice, helpful and full of hospitality. We are grateful we choose that place, and will definitely go back to this place.

Especially nice place to stay if you are with kids :)

Great place to stay for cold days of rock climbing trip :)

Room 5B
-The apartment was rather spacey, however the 18(i think) steps between the bedroom level and WC + Kitchen level were a bit ...annoying: Oh I forgot the water! Did you lock the door honey?! etc (that’s a personal opinion of course. Others consider it as training!). Additionally space could be organized more ergonomically. (the way the double bed was situated… there was no space left for side tables: only one of the two of us was the lucky one, i used the floor instead)
-You can see the sea alright, but i wouldn't call it a nice sea view (ugly unfinished building in the front left, a couple of houses in front of you...) not really enjoying the view.
-Its true that the sea is in walking distance (about 100 m) but due to the fact that it is a small bay its somehow ... not as clean as the other beaches of the area (plaka, lakos, poulithra, etc). We swam there only once: the 1st day. 
-It does have free parking space (public area) 200 m away, but it is unattended. I asked and was given one of the 2 parking slots available in the premises, however most of the times either it was taken by someone else, or someone was blocking my exit. (Willing to help, but not really organised).
-It did have free WiFi, and in my room i had a good signal. The problem was that it was not always available. I had to buy a 3G plan, and i would recommend you the same if your life too depends on it!
-Sampatiki has a nice look of a classical Greek fishing-village, however with one and only coffee – tavern, and houses all the rest, (literally), it is more like a housing development than a village. Additionally we went once in this specific ...tavern and there she was: a running cockroach came to visit us! We acted cool, but a few minutes after her brother come (running as well)… well at this point we informed the waiter who didn't seem to bother, so we left before meeting all the family… Really disappointing. 
So back to Sampatiki: I would not really recommend it: next time I would look at Poulithra which is a nice village by the sea, or Leonidion which is the main small-nice-city around, a few km from the sea, with nice cafes, taverns, things to see and do etc: Much better! Or you can stay at Plaka which is by the sea, but its not really a village (a few taverns and cafes and a couple of rooms to let) The choice is yours! 

Although Ms Rena, the owner, is very friendly, a rather good problem solver and trying to please everyone, unfortunately that’s not possible and most important: that's not enough:

***Rooms have to be cleaned every 2 or 3 days, and rubbish has to be collected EVERY DAY.
-I don't have to ask rubbish to be collected.
-And i should not be asked if i want the room cleaned every third day. You have to do it willingly. Rooms have to be clean. I am sorry.

There was a big (about 80 cm high) bin in the balcony, next to the table which was used for breakfast, lunch etc. And we were instructed to leave our garbage in this bin and they would collect it.  

After a couple of days the rubbish was still in that bin and because of the heat it started smelling! (However the bin was not full and i guess that was why they were not collectted). We had removed the rubbish ourselves. 

And we were lucky because we had a corner apartment. If you were in the middle ones you had to bear up the bins of the neighbors: left and right. Enjoy !
This is not how it should be.

***The WC was smelling. Where from? Down the drain! How do we know? I covered the drains (2) overnight and the smell was largely reduced in the morning. We were covering the drains and keeping the ventilation on all the time, in order to have a better air quality (wc had no window). The drains should be cleaned regularly. I don’t have to hold my nose when entering the wc!

- Is coffee making machine supposed to have a used filter in it with mold as a bonus gift ?!!!
I mean, yes they cleaned it right-away after i told them, but shouldn't they be more careful?

Anyway, if you would ask me to describe my experience in one word, that would definitely not be “cleanliness”

A few more details:  
The apartment building  is an attached multi-apartment building. The difference is these apartments are too attached to each other (they love each other!): If you want to enjoy a nice evening on the balcony, that strongly depends on your neighbours. Its just a small wall seperating the one balcony from the other and its just about 1m tall. This means that you can hear the breath (and not only!) of your dear neighbours. On top of that, the A/C is quite old and thus NOISY so if their A/C is on, buy-buy silence, and if YOURS A/C is on "en plus" buy-buy fresh air: the external unit of the A/C is on the balcony floor and guess where the heat goes?! Yep. 

I could write more, but I am running out of time, and unfortunately I am not getting paid for it! 
So that’s all folks, hope I helped the ones who are considering this place and hope I helped the owner to fix a couple of things, honestly.

The place itself doesn't say much. There are very few services in the village, and the only tavern is run by some kind of laconic bear.

Honest

Yes, its a big statement, but warranted! My family (4 couples and children) stayed in these apartments for 3 nights during our trip to Greece in July. Now home, we all agree this was everyone's very favorite place. Rena, the owner, made us feel like we were visiting family. The apartments are superb - spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained and everything on hand for self catering. Each had a balcony with amazing sea views.The tiny village is quiet and safe. It sits on a beautiful little harbour with a nice, clean beach, gorgeous turquoise water and safe swimming for the kiddies. On the beach is the only taverna, which is also lovely, where you can sit in the shade of a massive mulberry tree and enjoy bread and dips and delicious seafood while watching the children play at the waters edge. Oh I wish I was still there! Thankyou Rena for a lovely stay. We will return.

Best place to stay in all of Greece!

It's a friendly village isolated from mass tourism, which is a good point to my taste. But we had a hard time finding the apartment with GPS coordinates and we ended up in alleys where we had to turn down the mirrors to get through... The apartment itself is the simplest thing with air conditioning in a room on two. For me, the promiscuity of the neighbors makes it a little noisy.

Just for one night.

It's a spacious property a minute from a small harbor frequented only by Greeks, a cork beach protected by a small harbor, a magical place, the lovely owner cutting herself in four to make you have a good stay, and she suggested we enjoy two transats and a kayak on the beach, don't hesitate.

A fabulous site away from tourist attractions

It was January, when there were no tourists, a quiet place, enough room in a two-story house for two families, a nice hostess, friendly, always ready to help, comfortable beds, clean laundry, a view of the sea from the balcony, as luck would have it, you could have lunch in the garden, with a view of the orange trees, full of fruits.

A place to relax

It is a very convenient set of apartments in a beautiful garden planted with oranges and lemons and located on an extraordinary site. Invisible from the main corniche road, a small fishing village is nestled around a small harbour and a beautiful beach (gravels however). There is no trade, no commercial exploitation: only authentic. Like the only tavern that serves real Greek meals (so try the fried squid!!!) and yet offers free wifi. For 25€ a night in May 2013, the very hospitable owner offers you sheets and served.
