What an amazing stay!!! A charming monastery in a perfect garden, so well decorated, so clean, so quiet. Very fairy tale like experience. An absolutely incredible modern bathroom, quiet AC, nice beds. Did I mention quiet? Owner Maria is very warm and welcoming. The breakfast was outstanding. We absolutely loved our stay. What a value. Thank you Maria!

Wondeful stay

I was very excited for our stay at this hotel and it exceeded my expectations. Mystra is a charming little village off the beaten path but very close to Sparta. Some tourists come to see the incredible Byzantine ruins just outside the village, but you're well away from the big crowds at other sites. It's an easy five minute walk to the downtown square where there are very good restaurants. The hotel is immaculate, with a gorgeous, peaceful courtyard. Wifi was very good, beds comfortable, and rooms spacious. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very kind and friendly. Don't hesitate to stay here if you want the authentic, boutique small town Greece experience - you won't regret it!

Perfect Boutique Hotel in Mystra

Spacious room, helpful staff, delicious breakfast and a charming location. You hear the melodic chants from the monastery, and you can walk into the little village. It's an easy drive to see ancient Sparta and well worth the time. Also an easy drive to Mystras with fascinating churches and frescos from more than 1,000 years ago.

Impressive and quiet

Excellent establishment! Very comfortable, cozy, clean accommodation with all the amenities you may need. Very pleasant hosts and rich breakfast. 
Choose a room with view to the valley. If the weather permits, enjoy your breakfast in the courtyard/garden. 

Beautiful Autumn retreat

Everything about Pyrgos of Mystras was top quality - from the decor to the comfort, the atmosphere and the staff. We loved every moment.

Such a lot of effort has gone into the design of this boutique hotel, so the decor and furnishings in our room were absolutely beautiful. We were in a garden room, and when we opened our shutters, we found that we had a view not only of the orange grove outside, but also of the hilltop castle! All the windows were fitted with fly screens, so we could choose between AC or natural ventilation. There was tons of room for our cases and all our stuff.

The bathroom was very spacious and stylish, with a great shower and plenty of room for your bits and pieces.

Breakfast was in a lovely courtyard, underneath the grapevine, and we could choose from an extensive buffet, with many of the choices home-made, e.g. jams, omelettes, teas etc. Tea and coffee were served to your table. It was a meal that you wanted to linger over!

The staff were so friendly and helpful, even greeting us by our names, which was a very nice touch.

We were only a 2 minute walk from the main square in Mystras, where there is a selection of tavernas under a huge, old tree, although we opted to drive about 15 mins up to the nearby village of Pikoulianika, where there were some excellent restaurants with great views of the ruins and plain of Sparti.

I would certainly stay here again if I were in this area.

The way a boutique hotel should be

delightful staff! comfortable, very clean, convenient location.
The breakfast is a a delicious mix of home made items and the usual breakfast fare. simply delicious! the patio is beautiful and relaxing. Again, staff are so friendly and helpful. wonderful place!

Recommended by the Michelin guide what a disappointment!!!
The room is medium size  and a bit dark.
 For a hotel of this standard (it pretends to a four stars hotel...) , a swimming pool would have been nice for the hottest hours of the day as the sea is at an hour's drive...
There is no restaurant and no room service... 
Slow wifi...
You need your car to go to the site....

 Although I gave my schedule (asked surprisingly by the manager, I thought it was to know when my room could be cleaned), my room was NOT CLEANED with the corona virus as an excuse ....this was the excuse I got when I phoned not very pleased to the manager.... 
This so-called protocol of not cleaning the client’s room is not mentioned anywhere. The least, if it really exists,  would be to warn the clients, put a note in every room....as there is to wear a mask, keep social distances and clean hands....
It means then that they do not change the towels or the sheets? 
Customers like me accustomed to travel do not like lies like this. 
If I chose an hotel and not AirBandB it is for the service... The message is clear then: Go somewhere else for service and better value 



ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE

The hotel is located in a quiet part of the village, in an old beautiful house. The decoration is nice, the garden with orange trees is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is very welcoming.  

Two weak points:
- the mattress is very tough
- the breakfast is so so

All in all, the charm of the place prevails.

Charming place

The hotel successfully blends tradition with design, quality materials, luxury and comfort. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere around all the property.The olive junior suite was big enough for our family of three adults. The suite and the bathroom were very clean, spotless. High quality cosmetics in the bathroom. Comfortable king sized bed and the sofa bed. 
Breakfast was very tasteful plenty of local goodies. Fresh orange juice from the property's own orange grove was a bonus.
Mary and Maria were very pleasant, friendly and competent hosts.
We consider that we received a very good value for money. We definitely recommend it.

A unique and memorable experience

Pyrgos Mystra is a gorgeous and peaceful haven in the small town of Mystras.  The rooms are beautifully appointed.  There is a lovely shaded courtyard.  Everything about the hotel is gracious.  When we arrived, we were offered cookies and beverages in the vaulted wine cellar where we also had breakfast the next morning.  The breakfast itself was plentiful and varied.  Many of the items offered were made in-house. The hotel is conveniently located in the town of Mystras -- though a little difficult to find, so you might want to print out a map rather than rely on GPS. Staying at Pygos Mystra, we felt like guests in an elegant manor house rather than a hotel. I highly recommend this serene retreat.
