A perfectly situated family run hotel.
A very warm welcome from Kathy and her staff.
Room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and everything worked. Cleaned every day.
Breakfast was continental and more than enough.
Hotel is ideally situated with restaurants and bars in walking distance, a small supermarket just down the road, and also the small passenger ferry to Telendos.
There was no problem using the pool opposite, and it didn't feel awkward.
There is a lovely bar next door which does the best cocktails. Although quite central, the Hermes is quiet night and day, making it the perfect place to stay.
Will definitely return.

Just perfect

I can only reiterate the previous reviews - this was the most authentic Greek holiday I have ever had on a package holiday (Jet2).  Cathy is exceptional as are the girls who help her.  Nothing is ever too much trouble for her and she even made us sandwiches for the flight home - that is what I call beyond ...  The hotel is small and friendly and the beds the best I have ever slept in on holiday.  Wanted to return next year but have already booked our 2024 holidays but all being well we will definately be back in 2025.

Best Kept Secret in Kalymnos

Very clean room. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was plentiful and Kathy accommodated my diet as I am gluten free. Use of pool across the street (you have to buy a drink) and beach/restaurants very close. Near bus stop to the capital/around the island and the hotel is a a short walk to neighbouring Massouri. Boats run to Telendos island from a short walk away from the hotel every half hour. Kathy has a great gift with people. I felt very welcome and cared for during the stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Great location. Beautiful part of the world. 

Lovely stay 

This is the second time we have visited the hotel as we came last year. The hotel is run by Cathy who is a wonderful lovely lady. Nothing is too much trouble even staying up to greet us at 2.00am. Cathy will do all she can to make your stay as relaxing as possible the rooms are cleaned daily except Sunday and are immaculate.  Cathy also has a great sense of humour which is great. There is so much to see and do on the island boat trips to Telendos which is worth a visit. There are beaches within easy walking distance and Tavernas serving lovely food if you dont want to venture too far into Massouri which is only up the hill where there are several restaurants and bars to choose from. We hired a bike for 6 days and explored the island and other beaches which are also stunning. We have already booked to come back next year sorry Cathy. HA

Wonderful host and beautiful Island

The most relaxing, welcoming holiday anyone could wish for.
The Hermes is situated close to the beach in Myrties, near to Smugglers and Kusina Tavernas.
The hotel is spotless! Kalotina and her very small team ensure that everything's done to make your stay enjoyable. 
The beds are so comfortable,  it's hard to get up to eat the delicious Greek breakfast on offer. Fresh fruit, yogurt, tasty Kalymnion honey, breads, meats and cheeses  enough for anyone!.
Is there any wonder guests go back year after year?

Shhhhhhhh....... the best kept secret in Myrties.

I stayed for the 3rd time at this hotel for a 3-week stay. I go every year to Kalymnos to climb and I'll never stay at another hotel. Cathy the host is truly fantastic and just can't do enough for you. Both she and her husband Peter are English speaking having spent a large part of their lives living in Australia. She goes out of her way to make your stay as comfortable as possible including baking fresh cakes each day, mending any torn garments, and even doing my washing!

This is truly a home from home for me and I'm sure that it will be for you too. Read the rreviews, they speak for themselves...

Best Hotel on Kalymnos

This was my first visit to Kalymnos, with a large group of friends on a climbing holiday. Several of us stayed at Hermes, with the rest in other Hotels nearby. Kathy and her team were so welcoming and friendly, and she was always on hand for a chat. The accommodation was simple but spotless, large fridge and kettle in the room, and air conditioning. The beds were very comfortable with clean towels most days. Breakfast was Continental style, with delicious home made cake on the side. There were several adorable cats who had clearly adopted all the guests and staff at Hermes.

In terms of location, we were perfectly situated with several restaurants within short walk, a cocktail bar right next door at Hotel Nefeli in their wonderful garden. The ferry to Telendos was only a few minutes away and left every half hour, and the main street of Myrties was just uphill. Everywhere was so friendly and relaxed, numerous bars and places to eat with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

I was sad to leave, Kathy saw us all off with a big hug. Wonderful holiday

Homely and welcoming

Lovely little hotel very clean (rooms serviced everyday) and comfortable.  Everyone is friendly and made me feel right at home. Would definitely go back again and would recommend it to anyone.  It is on a steep road but on you get up the hill there are bars and a supermarket very close.


Gem of a hotel

Made so welcome by Kathy and her team, comfortable room very clean and everyone so helpful . Great buffet breakfast lots to choose from.
Kathy goes out her way to make sure you are being looked after, central for restaurants and local public transport.

Great stay

I returned to the Hermes again this September because my stay last year was so very good.
I wasn't disappointed. 
Cathy and Peter gave me such a warm welcome. My room was spotless as is the whole hotel. Even the 2 girls who help with breakfast and room cleaning were the same, it really was like returning to a second home. There just aren't enough superlatives to describe the Hermes and the way in which it is run.
It is my belief that Cathy could and indeed should, run courses in how an hotel should be run.
It is unbelievable that this hotel is only classed as a 2*.  Believe me I have stayed in many 4* hotels that could learn so much from Cathy and her entire team.
I couldn't fault the Hermes even if I tried very very hard.
