I had reserved a different hotel in Samana, and when I got there, it was unspeakable.  My concho driver---who I just stumbled upon with pure dumb luck---even said, no, you can't stay here.  So I said, "Take me somewhere."  He asked how much I was willing to spend, and he said, OK, and brought me here to the Blue View Hotel.

First of all, the location is stupendous.  The driveway up is very steep, so if you're driving, be careful, and if you're walking, it means you did your aerobics for the day.  The restaurant and the rooms have a stunning view of Samana Bay.  

I didn't care about a view, as I was by myself and just wanted a place to sleep.  I had room #2.  It was small, and most importantly, scrupulously clean.  The bed was very comfortable and there is hot water in the shower, which is something of a rarity in the DR.  There is A/C, but I found that the ceiling fan kept the room quite comfortable.  

The restaurant downstairs is called Chino, and I learned later that it is famous far and wide for its Chinese food.  I heartily concur.  The food is delicious.  The servers were very polite and relatively attentive.  

My only complaint is that there is no breakfast.  An urn of coffee is set up in the hallway, with cups, sugar, and (yuck) coffeemate.  There is a dish of plain soda crackers and some cookies.  I don't mind having breakfast not included, but I would have liked to be able to sit down, enjoy the view again, and have maybe some toast and an egg, and coffee with real milk.

What a find!

We visited for 3 days and had a great stay. The owners and the staff are extremely friendly, bar and restaurant are excellent. The room had a huge terrace and a beautiful view on the sea. The location is in walking distance to the main town, many restaurants are within a 10 minutes walk. The hotel has own sunbeds and the water was excellent, even in late  summer. We can definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

Nice hotel, beautiful view and friendly staff

This hotel is genuinely family run and they clearly take great pride in assuring very high standards of cleanliness, service and facilities.  We found them very approachable and helpful.  "The best barman in the Universe" deserves a particular mention as he did much to ensure we enjoyed our stay.  A brilliant man to have front-of-house.
The Hotel is located right beside the beach which is of sand with a good shallow entry, sloping off just the right amount for easy entry for swimming.  There are sunbeds provided for a fee; this is waived if you buy any drinks (including coffee etc) with low-key service provided at the sunbeds.
The food at the hotel was excellent if slightly on the high side price-wise.  It was, without doubt, the best food available in the area.  The menu, although Greek, seemed to be oriented towards the predominantly Balkan clientel.  We would have preferred a greater selection of authentically Greek dishes.  The portion size was truly enormous!! Try the T-bone steak if you dare :)
Rooms and communal areas were scrupulously clean with towels and bed linen being changed frequently.
We had a fantastic time and really appreciated the atmosphere created by the Hotel owners.

Fantastic family run hotel in excellent location

The hotel is situated on the beach, with an elegant restaurant and pool area. The location is quiet, near the promenade, with easy walking distance to all the restaurants and marina.
The rooms have a good size, very clean, modern design. We stayed in the double suite and had a large terrace with sea view.
The breakfast was very good and the food at the restaurant was perfect!
I highly recommend it.

Highly recommend

We stayed at Blue Vie for 5 night and it was the perfect place for chilling out and relaxing. The location is great, not too far from the middle of the city but still somehow separated that there's not much noise. 
The hotel room was really comfy, everything was nice and clean and the view is exceptional (we had a rom with sea view)
The restaurant food was also a hit, we ate there every day and everything in the menu tastes great, incudin the deserts and  cocktails from the bar. 
Everyone in the staff is really friendly and helpful, always making sure that guests were happy, all in all it was a great experience. 

Great stay 

The hotel is very clean and well-kept. Rooms are cleaned every day. In the room there is a small fridge, air-conditioner and very nice balcony with a view to the see. There is hot water in all times of the day. The staff is very nice and welcoming. Special regards to the waitresses serving at the breakfast and on the beach. Very professional!! We will visit again for sure. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amazing place.

We have just returned from a two year covid delayed holiday at the Blue View Hotel. We were not disappointed.  Our room had all we needed though the bed was  a little uncomfortable. Breakfast had everything one could need. Cereals,  eggs,  bacon, toast, fruit, yoghurt, hams, fruits, etc. So clean and tidy. Very nice pool and plenty of sunbeds, some in shade if you desire. Nice bar, not over priced. Parasols on the beach free so long as you purchased drinks, delivered by the hard working Maria. Lunch can be taken in the "Elia" and your evening meal which the hotel owns. The place is spotlessly clean with workers starting very early.  A big thank you to you, the cleaners, room cleaners, bar staff , chefs and waiters. A special thanks to Valacia, a hard working young women clearing up Breakfast and still working in the evening clearing tables. One thing I would change would to have more privacy on the balcony partitions. Thank you all. A very enjoyable holiday with hot sunshine. Would  we return.......of course we would.

This was a great holiday for us and this place is amazing!! Everything was perfect: cleanliness, staff, food, views, pool, beach, you name it. I will DEFINITELY come back here. Thank you Andreas and Ria as well as all the other members of the staff!

Superlative!

I've just come back from spending a week at Blue View.  From the owners, staff, accommodation, food, to the location, all are fabulous.  It really is a paradise and are made to feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.  The cleanliness of the hotel and outside areas is exceptional.   The hotel is in an excellent location with beach on your doorstep, which was very clean with plenty of sun loungers and about a 10 minute leisurely walk to Limenaria.  I cannot rate this hotel highly enough.  I have been several times and never disappointed and will definately return in the future.
