Stella arranged for a taxi to meet us at Kalamata airport. We were welcomed with open arms. Our twin room was comfortable and we loved the position of the place. Stella appeared every morning outside our balcony, bearing different dishes she had made. Very generous. The weather varied and we were glad of the warm blankets in the cupboard. An electric kettle would have been more efficient than the slow hot plate and saucepan. Panayotis was ver helpful too

A week in October

Well, this was definitely the worst place we have ever stayed in in Greece. It was a very basic room in which the wifi worked only if you stood next to the fridge. If you're supplying a kitchen, it should have hot water. The blind on the balcony was broken, so couldn't be raised and, worst of all, the room wasn't cleaned and the bin in the bathroom wasn't emptied. We don't mind basic, really we don't, but we do expect cleanliness. If you're goi got Kardamyli, which is lovely, stay somewhere else!

Very disappointing 

we were met by stella and her husband what lovely people given the choice of which apartment we would like.stella brought us drinks and cakes couldn`t be made more welcome the views are wonderful and just minutes to the main street.first morning stella left a bag full of oranges and eggs the second morning cakes and pastries.the room was spacious and spotless very comfortable everything you could want

I stayed in a studio room (with a balcony overlooking an olive grove and out to sea) for 10 nights. It was very comfortable for 1 person but would be a bit cosy with 2 people. Couples would be advised to book one of the 2 room apartments which are excellent.
The jewel in the crown for this little establishment is Stella herself (and her son Panayiotis). The generosity and hospitality of this family has to be experienced. Every day Stella would give me treats, coffee, fruit, freshly cooked food, etc. Stella makes you feel like a part of the family, not just a guest.
Highly recommended.

Home away from home

I booked at Stellas because she had a vacancy and most hotels and apartments seemed to be fully booked. At the end of March that is proof of the great tourist boom which Greece is enjoying - but one wonders why.

No hot water in the kitchen. Given a twin bed studio,.without a table. Asked for one and she brought in a tiny white plastic garden table from outside. Take your own mosquito tablets - there was just one, so overused it had turned white. Should of course have brought my own but by the time I realised it, it was too late and the shops were shut and the mossie was hungry.

Worst of all was Stella allowing the builders next door to use the front piece of her land right under my window to mix cement and store building materials. It is illegal to do building work after 3 pm. They were still at it at 7pm. Good bye siesta. Her answer  was that they only enforced that law in Kardamili when the tourists  were there. Who did she think she had staying in her rooms, aliens ?

For some strange reason my internet connection then virtually disappeared for most of that evening.  I wonder why that was.

The room was clean.  The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but modern and clean. 

But it was a miserable experience.  Told her that as she preferred the local builders, to guests, I would leave and did.
