Nice hotel in a small but charming city. The rooms we were in were very comfortable, modernly furnished. The price includes a buffet breakfast with a variety of dishes. The staff is very courteous. We spent a very nice week at this hotel.

Nice place

Very nice hotel located in the centre of Xanthi. Spacious and comfortable rooms with a good window. Right breakfast. Free parking inside the property which is advisable to book. To highlight the kindness of the staff. In our case they made several calls so that we could visit the Tumba Macedonica.

IN THE CENTRE 

The hotel is situated at the city center. You have a great variety of shops and restaurants at a walking distance. The front desk stuff is very friendly. The parking lot is free of charge. The breakfast has basic options. 
It is a relatively good price/quality option. It is a cheap hotel - we stayed for 1 night for €45. As such, the furniture in the rooms are old, the bathroom is small. No hairdryer, no cotton set, no body lotion, no shower cap in the bathroom available - only soap and shampoo. With my husband we stayed in a double room but the beds were separated. However, the room was very clean. I would recommend to the hotel management to consider to change the pillows - they are very uncomfortable! 

Please note that although the hotel has two elevators, they are not handicap friendly. On our floor there was a man in wheelchair - his wife was forced to put a regular chair in the elevator, to move him, then somebody from the stuff will carry down the stairs the wheelchair and move him back. 

Good location

Stayed  for  3  days.  Very  good  location  near  town  center,  with  private  parking,  very  clean with  friendly  staff. Breakfast  is  just 
 basic with  not  many options. Bed  linen  need  some  improvement as well as room  decoration.

Very good  location  and  cleaness

We had a relatively decent one night stay at Xanthippion in August 2016. We stayed in a twin room facing the back of the hotel. It was okay, but the beds were too old and not comfortable. So this year we booked two of their more expensive (much better, in their own words) Cocomat double rooms facing the front. My experience can easily be summarised in one sentence - I'd rather poke my eyes out with a butter knife than stay there again! Without any exaggeration I can honestly say that our rooms, located on the 5th and on the 6th floors, were both hot like hell (literally). Weather was warm, but not too hot - the outside temperature was about 30 degrees Celsius. The indoor temperature was about 35-40 degrees and it did not change much for three days despite using the so-called old version of AC. It felt like the heating in the rooms and in corridors was ON at all times. We were melting like ice-cream in the middle of the dessert. We tried opening the windows at night, asked the reception to check-out our AC, etc, with no luck whatsoever as because of the heating and the poor quality AC, the rooms remained hot like hell for the rest of our stay. We barely managed to get any sleep at all. Also there was a renovation of the hotel (painting the outside walls) for which we were not told in advance. The main entrance was not accessible and we had to use the back door and make our way through all sort of DIY products and paint. That was not just an unpleasant experience, but more importantly it wasn't safe especially for our elderly parents. Because of the renovation, the car park (which is for up to 5-6 cars, I'd say) was blocked. A member of staff told us in a very RUDE tone to go and find a public parking or park directly on the street which is next to impossible at this time of the year. The positive thing about the hotel is the location, but as one can imagine that's not enough to stay again.

A good, affordable city hotel, friendly staff, some of them German speaking, and they're always happy to arrive when we go back and forth from our summer quarters, as Xanthi is about in the middle.

Stop-over

Three-star hotel with decent breakfast, clean rooms, daily cleaning, budget-friendly, convenient downtown, close to shopping streets, cafes and restaurants, even parking, I recommend.

The Commander

We stayed in Xanthi for a few days and definitely made the right choice to stay at this particular hotel. It's really unfair to be described as a two star (only!) hotel. It could easily be a 3 or 4 star hotel. Perfect breakfast even for a diabetic like me. Also situated right in the town centre. Thank you for your hospitality hope to see you soon.

Wonderful hotel

A hotel that is situated near the city center, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is sufficient with enough choice and the people are friendly and helpful. I would definitely use again if I was to visit Xanthi.

An honest deal

Very nice staff, simple but clean rooms, central location and small deck with everything you need free parking we're in a few minutes walking to the old town and full of restaurants around the corner what else to ask for
