From the moment David picked us up from the airport and patiently waited for me to put car seats in his shuttle (not the norm in Guatemala)... we were completely at ease (with 3yr old twins in tow.) Wendy was very helpful with our booking and all of our questions before, during and after. Freddy... we love you! Each morning he would wow us with breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking the active volcanoes. My husband & I Are world travelers and have travelled extensively with our children, but we were not sure what to expect taking them to a friends wedding in Guatemala. The room was incredibly beautiful, the hotel is such a hidden gem. One of my most favorite of all of the places I have been lucky enough to have visited in my life. We were made to feel like family and the hotel is absolutely stunning. If you have the chance to stay here, do it! Our trip was meant to be child free, but plans changed... if you happen to be traveling without kids...it is VERY romantic. Also the surrounding neighborhood is gorgeous, full of fountains, mountains, flowers & volcano views. Unbeknownst to us it is a gated community (a guard post for which we needed a guest code) which was nice for us with the kids to have a bit more freedoms, and almost zero traffic.

Exceeded all expectations!

After staying in Antigua many times we decided to,try this.  The place has the bones of a 5 star but everything else was sub par.  if you know Antigua, you know there are fresh flowers everywhere.  A beautiful bouquet is about 10$ US.  We stayed 10 days.  When we arrived there were a dozen dead red roses on the main coffee table in the public area  and they stayed there for a further three days.  They were never replaced.  Where candles are everywhere in Antigua there was never even one lit.  The sheets are of poor quality and have holes in them.  Same with the towels.  Some had more holes than towel.  The magazines in baskets were from 2002-2007, nothing newer.  There were spiderwebs all over the books in the bookcases.  It was like Miss Havisham in Great Expectations.  Where once there was beauty all that is left is a poor excuse for a hotel.  It is priced at the same rate as the nicest hotels in Antigua.  I hate writing bad reviews but there are so many great options this one should not even be considered.  Whoever owns this place should be ashamed for squandering a beautiful space in an amazing town

Sad, sad, sad

We were so excited to visit Guatemala, but, unfortunately, the airline advised us our flight would be canceled due to Hurricane Matthew and they did not advise rebooking through the weekend due to the projected course, so I had to cancel the hotel reservation.  However, as I canceled 40 hrs before hand instead of 48 hrs, they refuse to refund all the money, even though they know about the hurricane. I was able to get permission to take my vacation in November instead, but they still refuse the refund.  It is ungenerous of them and gives insight into their way of doing business. You learn more in times of stress than when things are going well. I would advise to steer clear of these people. Luckily another beautiful hotel in the area (Santo Domingo) offered a fantastic discount, so we will head over there instead.

bad management

On the two occasions I have stayed at this boutique hotel we were fortunate to have the entire hotel to ourselves.  An incredible feeling -  not having to worry about locking your room because it feels you are staying at a friend's house and still have the privacy to retire to your own room.  There is a beautiful terrace on the second floor to have breakfast.  So if you are traveling as a group and you need 6 rooms nothing beats the comfort, service and relaxation provided by the incredible hotel.

It's a beautiful boutique hotel in a gated community close to the heart of Antigua...

The hotel used to be a private residence, or that's at least how it looks like. Spanish architecture. Rooms are beautiful, especially the suites. 
Breakfast was grand! Freddie made sure we have everything we need!

This is absolutely an experience and greatly recommended!
