I prefer to stay in family run establishments, knowing I am supporting a locally run enterprise.  

The name Juma Ocag represents the names of the family!  And the family is lovely.  Very patient with my limited Spanish.  

I stayed in an upstairs double deluxe room and really enjoyed sitting out on the patio table to do my writing.  

Very conveniently located in town.  You get used to buzzing back in and the entire place is very clean.  

An earlier review mentioned a dislike for all the rules but I appreciate them because it helps to ensure a good experience for all.

Lovely Family Run Posada

I stay here every year as it’s a gem. The location is great right across the street from the market, around the corner from La Bodegona (supermarket) and only a few blocks from the park. Apart from the location it’s super clean, decorated very Guatemalan and cute, there’s a common kitchen and free water, a lovely outdoor sitting area, great staff, and hot showers. It can be a bit noisy from the street so I bring ear plugs and have no issue sleeping. Highly recommend given the price and what it offers!

Lovely place 

My sister and I loved this little guesthouse! Across from the Handicraft Matket and local Market, around the corner is a supermarket, shops, restaurants, etc. We had the back room which is quiet and large. The kitchen is quite functional, and filtered water is always available. Great value, nice people, would definitely recommend!

Sweet place, great location

Traveled with my wife and sister in law and stayed at the Posada Juma Ocag. We stayed at places that were much more on our trip around Guatemala but this was one of our favorites. The property was exceptionally clean. There was a commons kitchen that was also very clean. The property had a quant outdoor sitting area on the second floor courtyard. the rooms had very comfortable beds and lockers to lock up valuables.( bring a lock)  The owner was very nice and helpful. For Antigua the rooms were very quiet even though it was next to a main road.  The property is in a very nice spot. It has bakeries right across the street. It is also across the street from a huge day market where fruits, vegetables and local wares are trucked in daily and sold. There is a super Mercado a few blocks away as well as numerous restaurants and shops. My wife and I paid $28.00 for a room and my sister in law paid $26.00. Excellent value for the money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a Bdget to mid range hotel that is clean and offers a good nights sleep in a great location. Thumbs up if the review was helpful. Happy travels!!

Cost so little but offers so much!

We spent a night in Antigua and we decided for this place to stay. Even it’s located in a main road, it’s quiet and provides basic room with private bathroom at a very cheap rate. At the time we stayed there, they did not accept credit card so be warned you can only pay in cash.

Cheap place to stay

Very clean, nice size room with a lockable metal closet ...bring a padlock.  We bought a padlock and put our valuables in the closet.  Nice to have free water and coffee. Wonderful little garden to relax with a cup of tea or brew.  There is a kitchen available for you to use.  The staff are friendly and efficient.  Right across the street from the market.  Many restaurants 2 minutes away.

Great little hotel in a good location...near everything.

Great place to stay! It was clean and the staff was extremely friendly. It is located across the street from the market and easy walking distance to the center of town. Loved the little courtyard and access to a little kitchen.
