Incredible space and highly recommended! So many fascinating architectural features (polished concrete, tile, homemade fixtures), local textiles, beautiful gardens, crisp linens, fresh breakfast… it was a perfect visit! Great location for easy access to town.

Peaceful gardens, comfy beds, fresh farm to table food!

Casa San Juan is the perfect place to get away. I went specifically for yoga but experienced and enjoyed so much more. The trips to Antigua and surrounding villages were delightful, the food was beyond compare and prepared with all fresh local ingredients and lots of love, and the San Juan grounds, rooms and common space is peaceful and serene. This is a place to put on your list of must dos!

A Little Piece of Paradize

Our group held a writing retreat Dec. 27-31 at Casa San Juan. The hospitality was amazing. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained; the vegetarian food was prepared by hand from fresh ingredients three times a day, with love and attention by the cooks. Several of us had dietary restrictions (gluten-free, vegan) that were accommodated with care. Several day trips were a highlight. 
One of the best parts of our stay at CSJ was the yoga classes held every morning. These were led expertly by Nancy, who provided gentle guidance throughout each session as well as variety, bringing to each morning's class a few new thoughts and insights and allowing each participants to work at the intensity right for each, whether low-intensity, high-intensity, or in-between.  As a long-time yogi I learned a lot from Nancy! She is also a massage therapist who offered optional sessions to those of us who wanted to book a massage. She charged less than I am used to paying for a full one-hour session while providing a relaxing and refreshing experience throughout. I hope we have the opportunity to visit Casa San Juan again.

Beautiful setting, delicious food, and great yoga!

We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Juan! The rooms are pretty cool decorated and designed, immaculate clean and the bed is super comfy! Ginger opens her house to her guests and it is a gorgeous house with beautiful paintings, sculptures and very comfortable lounge sofa's.  I enjoyed her morning yoga sessions (she teaches all levels). And she is a HUGE source of information. She helped my husband with a skin problem by advising the use of Aloe. He still uses it...
Ginger is a wonderful host and I hope we will meet again!

Gorgeous small boutique hotel

This is a little gem, located in San Juan.  Highlights: friendly owner, yoga classes, and GREAT, GREAT food.  Highly recommended.  It is also fun to wander around San Juan with all its local craft shops.  Makes for an authentic stay :)

Wonderful place to stay out of the hussle and bussle of Antigua

This place is a great surprise. 
Ginger is probably the most acknowledged yoga teacher in Guatemala.  She is a direct disciple of Shri Baba Hari Dass.  And she is one of yoga teachers trainers that provide education for the  200 + TT certifications in Mount Madonna Ashram in California.
Don’t let yourself be turn off by the surroundings of this Posada.  Is a reminder that we live between locals and is not an scape of Guatemalan reality.  San Juan del Obispo is a typical painteresque humble town.
Inside the Posada is a calm and pure space, with an amazing library and two beautiful cats.  The rooms are cozy and allow yourself be surprised by the architectural eco designs.
Ginger’s yoga classes are amazing, right to keep the yoga practice rooted in its purpose.  The Ayurvedic classes are also very good.  She is an artist to simplify philosophical concepts where Ayurveda is rooted to make it accessible to you.  
Food of course is sattvic and delicious as Ginger is also a chef.   She is an Ayurvedic Therapist so this is a good start to find balance in your daily life and yoga practice through food and very asserted advices based on your Ayurvedic constitution. 
As a long term student of Yoga, I highly recommend this place and appreciate it for its simplicity and coziness. 
And I’m grateful to have crossed the path of this yogini.
