My group and I were in Retalhuleu to work and train with the volunteer firefighters and the military USAR team. Our rooms by regional standards were above average and the service was impeccable. I recommend this as a great place to unwind, soak up the local culture and prepare for what lies ahead. The manager and staff were super nice and made sure our stay was comfortable.

Great Place To Stay

The hotel is very clean, which makes it comfortable!  The beds are good.  As many in Guatemala are rock hard, this was refreshing.  Sophia the manager was absolutely amazing.  I can not even say enough about what she did for us.  She was up until almost midnight working with a special need that I had, and then up again at 4:30am to make sure that all went well for me!  Absolutely amazing!  

The internet is also extremely good for those that are trying to work while traveling.

A comfortable, warm and friendly place!

From the moment we entered the La Quinta Hotel we felt the friendly and attentive care of the staff. The young man at the front desk, the young man who brought our bags to the rooms, the women who fixed the breakfast meals, and, most especially, the hotel manager always greeted us with a smile and wanted to know how they could help make our stay better.  The rooms were clean and air conditioned which was especially appreciated by this Chicagoan.  I did not use the TV, but it's there if you so desire.  Plenty of closet space, but best of all a nice view of the city plaza just across the street.  We had dinner one night at the hotel which was basic but very tasty.  I would recommend La Quinta without hesitation.

A warm and friendly welcome awaits you

I stayed in the hotel in 2013 and then again January 2017.  It was very enjoyable last time and they have since done some renovations.  The hotel is very reasonably price.  Our room overlooked the square and was on the corner of the building, so we had a huge balcony space!!  There is a common area where we gathered several times.  One of the nights when many of us were there, they brought fans to point at us to keep us comfortable without anybody even asking! They were incredibly accommodating the whole time we were there!  Everybody there is incredibly friendly!  The rooms are very clean always.  They give you a bottle of water every day.  The air conditioning works great.  The hot water is pretty good, although in the Reu heat, I didn't mind having a cooler shower.  The wifi is pretty good as well (sometimes a little slow, but the hotel was completely full of us gringos trying to use it all at the same time).  They offer a laundry service and do an excellent job for a great price and will have it to you very quickly.  I anticipate being in Reu again in the next few years and really look forward to being able to stay at this hotel again when I return!  Thanks La Quinta for a great stay!

I love staying in this hotel

Our room was very clean and spacious with plenty of hot water and a wonderful balcony overlooking the town square.The manager Sophia was most gracious and took care of our every need.She even hooked us up with transportation to the next city on our trip.We look forward to our next visit to Reu and staying at La Quinta again!!!!!
