The Kanuku Suites provides limited service accommodations for mostly work related  guests. I stayed here for the better part of a week. I personally found the amenities and services on the website misleading. Employees are helpful and kind but require more hospitality training. The Angel Restaurant looks like a "Bottom House" restaurant and requires serious upgrading in every department. The complimentary breakfast is pathetic. I also get the feeling there is a master servant relationship between owner and staff. Is there enough value for the price of the room. Unequivocally No. Would I come back here. Not likely.

MY EXPERIENCE AT KANUKU SUITES..

rubbish hotel. Bleak rooms (try to get one with a window at least). Surly staff. Terrible restaurant service. Ony my last night I had to get to bed early since I had to be up at 1 am to take taxi to airport. I asked for a meal at 6 pm and explained the rush. The lady said '20 minutes'. An hour later I go down to ask about progress. She said 'sorry, I haven't started it, because I had to make dinner for the boss'. No cleaning of room between nights. No complimentary water left. Breakfast awful. Just, ugh.....

I booked a 2 night stay for 25th & 26th. November 2019. This I did via an extremely well known on line travel company in June of 2019. Cost : £150 : 00 paid in advance.
   Several days prior to my arrival at Georgetown International Airport ( Cheddi Jagan ) I e mailed Kanuku Suites via their own site requesting an airport pick up, stating my flight number & arrival time. Receiving no response, I then e mailed Kanuku Suites two more times via the travel company. Once again, I received no response. 
   I arrived on time at Georgetown & took a taxi to Kanuku Suites, arriving just before midnight. The only person available was a gateman/ watchman who professed to know nothing about my booking. He had no access to any room keys & was unable to ' phone anyone  in authority. This, in spite of my having a booked, paid & confirmed reservation in writing. 
  My helpful taxi driver took me to another hotel that he thought would be suitable & indeed it was fine & also open for business, fortunately for me so I booked in at what was now ten past midnight.
  Not the kind of hassle one wants after a journey of over 24hrs from my home in the U. K.
  As soon as I was settled in my room I e mailed the travel company with my complaint.
    Despite at first engaging with my complaint & receiving proof of my alternative accommodation costs they have now ignored me for the past week & I am having to resort to legal action to reclaim my £150 : 00.
  As for Kanuku Suites, I have never received any contact/ apology at all.
    My advice : avoid this hotel at all costs.

Utter Disgrace. Avoid at All Costs.

The hotel was clean but just the basic necessities in the rooms.We had a problem with the water at times. The staff especially Nicole at the front desk were all amazing.  Ask for rooms on the higher floors to help with the noises from the streets and the dogs next door.

But it could be better. The rooms re nice...especially the outside facing rooms. Beds are comfortable. The fridge was switched of, but working as soon as we plugged it in. Its close to a couple of supermarkets.air conditioning was fine.

Staff were friendly but not quite getting it right, we all had problems with the safes which needs to be sorted. Breakfast on birthday was poor, but second day they got it right. Staff very pleasant, but just need to be a bit more  responsive to customers needs

This is a nice hotel......

My first BBQ at Angel’s Seafood Restaurant; Kanuku Suites! Thanks to Ms. Tameka, Renata and team for pulling this off! The barbeque was well done, and I was pleased with the portion size too. As an avid reviewer, I would like to suggest other events such as Seafood Fiesta Fridays, Catch-of-the-Day seafood dishes. Also, in the future where feasible you can add some premium seafood dishes with ingredients such as mussels and clams to cater to our Cosmopolitan guests. If you like I can provide some suggested dishes,……

Keep forging  ahead with continued improvement especially with Customer Service (Food and Beverage Dept).

This hotel is situated in a quiet street a few blocks from Sheriff Street. 
The customer service is appalling. 
It's rooms are tired and dated. 
The bed mattress was too short for the bed and an extra bit was added that caused the under sheet to come off every night making it most uncomfortable. 
My safe was locked on arrival so I asked for someone to come with the master key. I was given a message by another member of our group to say it was broken - I'd like to know how seeing as nobody came to look at it. The next morning I asked another member of staff and was told the previous guest had gone home with the key!!!!! 
I ordered lunch from the bar menu - 30 minutes later kept being told it was coming. When it did arrive it was not what I ordered. I gave up as had to go out. 
The next day I returned from a trip and found my toilet leaking and had reached the carpet. I reported to reception and was told the plumber would be an hour - this was 6pm. 2 hours later, not arrived so went back to desk to say the water was now soaking the carpet and were they going to offer me another room?  Blank look from male receptionist who reluctantly gave me the key to another room . . . Air con not working and would have to make the bed by using linen from my other room. Gave key back and this time told plumber on way but he was coming from out of town.  At 11pm I gave up and went to bed.  
The next morning I asked if the plumber was still on his way.  The room lady came and looked and was horrified- not her fault - but she did get it fixed while I was out that day. 
The carpet in 402 needs replacing but be warned - if they don't it's gonna be very smelly soon!
Not a good experience. 

Avoid this hotel

I was looking for a good hotel price for my stay in Guyana, and I got that here. Nothing flashy. Just a cheap, worry-free stay. I liked it (mostly because it was easy on my wallet). I'd recommend this hotel for those who are looking for just a place to eat and sleep at an affordable price. Not bad.
