My husband and I had to travel to Tegucigalpa on business. I found this place quite by accident in my search for a safe hotel. Wow, what an incredible place to stay!! This is not your typical hotel in Tegus. It goes way beyond that. 

The owner has to be one of the most gracious hosts we have ever met. She organized everything from an absolutely beautiful clean room for us to stay, a fresh and delicious breakfast each morning at the time that we requested, an in room massage which was one of the best ive had and she even drove us in her personal car to a nearby restaurant (La Cumbres) so we could enjoy an absolutely fantastic dinner and picked us up afterwards! 

It is perfectly located in an upscale area, 10 minutes by car to the US Embassy,  15 minutes to the mall, 20 minutes to the airport and a 10 minute walk to the beautiful El Picacho National Park where you can take in stunning city views and enjoy the zoo!

The grounds of the hotel are well kept, full of flowers and plants and you will wake up to the sound of birds after an extremely restful sleep. Being up on the hill and out of the city,  the air is cool and fresh which is a much welcomed treat in Tegus.

If you are in town for a night or a few this is the best place to be, hands down!

The Secret Gem of Tegucigalpa

This is a gem in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. This is a true bed & breakfast that will satisfy the most demanding traveler. Our hostess, Esperanza greeted us and provided an amazing experience. 

As a person that grew up in Tegucigalpa, but had not visited in over 14 years my experience at Casa Xochicalco was exceptional. 

Both of the rooms our family occupied exceeded our expectations and were spacious, clean and well appointed. Both had private bathrooms and overlooked the incredible garden and pool. 

Because of the location of the home, the tranquility and silence of the premises are among the best attributes of the hotel. Location is a highlight of this property, since you will be in one of the most attractive residential areas of the city. It is a residential area located about a 15 to 20 minute drive from Tegucigalpa's bustling traffic.

A highlight is the breakfast that is provided by Esperanza. 

We will stay here again in our next visit. 

Highly recommend this hotel for families, couples and travelers wanting to experience Tegucigalpa like a local.

Best place to stay in Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Excellent quality of service, beautiful and peaceful atmosphere, clean and cute rooms. It's in a quiet neighborhood so all you can hear are the birds. It is perfect if you want to get away from the city for a while. We really enjoyed the stay!

Peaceful stay

Casa Xochicalco is the perfect quiet place to stay if in the El Hatillo or Tegucigalpa area. The home is beautiful, the rooms are clean, quiet and very comfortable. The breakfasts were incredible. The service was excellent.
I will definitely stay here again, and I live close by.

Excellent place to stay

We went there with 6 of my friends from 15th to 19th of November. Although we were on Tegucigalpa for study reasons we were still able to fully enjoy this hotel. 

We were greeted by the hotel owner and she was extremely polite and helpful with us. She offered us transport to get us downtown at a better price. 
The hotel is located almost in the outskirts of the city but with the shuttle service you get everywhere you want to go pretty easily.
