My partner and I spent an unforgettable two days last May in Somlóvásárhely at the Kreinbacher Birtok, one of the best hotels in the Balaton Highlands! The location and atmosphere of the hotel is excellent, an integral part of the atmosphere around Somló. The silence of Somló speaks and talks! The size of the rooms and bathrooms is sufficient, the interior design speaks of viticulture, vineyards and wines! The infrastructure of the rooms is of high quality, the beds, mattresses and pillows are good! Breakfast was part of our package, the breakfast options were also great, the champagne butter and the usual breakfast champagne in quality hotels was a worthy framing for the morning delicacies! The estate tour and wine tasting were also professional, with Sándor Márai and Béla Hamvas being evoked by the tour guide! Champagne production is based on the modern foundations of French champagne production!  The staff were not only friendly but professional! The hotel offers excellent value for money, we had a great time, would recommend to anyone, we will be back. The only criticism we have is about the plans to expand the estate: the Kreinbacher Estate is already 'out of proportion' with the ecosystem of Somló and its surroundings in its current state, and any expansion is certainly not desirable.

Somlóvásárhely: a special "unique drop" in the "sea"...

The best hotel in Somlo! The staff is amazing and absolutely friendly! The room size is good, the decoration is about wines and vineyards! The bed and the pillows are good! The only downside is the wall fixed hairdryer in the bathroom. The dinner menu is superb ( we tried the degustation menu which was an absolute gastronomic trip of flavors and colors and smells! The breakfast options were great, and the champagne in the morning is something special! The estate tour and wine tasting was like listening to a fairytale! We had great time!

Industrial style hotel with fantastic restaurant in Somlo! Amazing view with a professional staff!

Originally we wanted to stay at the estate, but later on we decided to have lunch only.
What an amazing experience!!
First class, attentive service-excellent food made to perfection with high quality ingredients 
Yes, it’s pricey.. but absolutely worth it!

Amazing food and service

The place is interesting, quite minimalist. Not very welcoming.
The rooms are nice and clean. The service staff is a bit rigid.
Feels like the main profile is not hosting guests rather the champagne and wine production.
The restaurant is excellent, waiters were also great.

Cold perfectionism

I stayed here with my SO on our summer vacation. The property is really nice and has a relaxing atmosphere. The selection of Hungarian wines is amazing and intriguing, so it seemed a bit unnecessary to add French Champagnes to the list.
The restaurant is good, but not great. We had the tasting menu for dinner and felt that it lacked refinement. It has a lot of potential, though.
As for the rooms: they are a bit small, but cosy and have a nice front lawn. Maybe it would have made a bit more sense for the rooms to face away from the road entering the compound, but that is just a detail. Unfortunately the quality of sleep was not very good and we could hear the people in the next room almost all the time, so i never really felt rested. 

Great Wines

So we finally got to visit the Kreinbacher estate. After checking into our room we knew we were in for a treat. Very well chosen materials, great design, both architecture and interior, a very cosy and friendly place indeed. 
Visited the bottling facility as well and did tasting as well. Must say we're not white wine fans, but it was a nice experience. The sparkling wine (pezsgő) is on a whole other level, though. You really can't miss here, all their sparkling wines are excellent quality. 
Also, the staff is worth mentioning: very polite and nice, unlike Your average experience in Hungary. Always smiling, knowledgeable, ready to help. Service fees well deserved, we felt. 

Highly recommended to visit. 

Only 2 small things to improve: pls. hire a barista. There's no latte without latte-art. Also, the memory foam on top of the beds are a bit soft. 
Other than that, we thought this place is a pearl, 9.5/10

Doesn't get much better than this

We visited this place more times, and it was always great, so we will go back again. We love the design of the buildings and the rooms. The wines and the cuisine is fab. The scenery is lovely, you can take nice walks.

Fantastic design

I found the property on google, we had a few extra days in Hungary and wanted to stay at a vineyard, drink, eat and relax. Google lead me to Krainbacher Birtok, the website was not promising but looked like what we were looking for. We were a group of eight guys so we booked four- rooms for three nights. 
The hotel was very stylish, just like the photos. The architecture and the interior design is excellent.
The service was outstanding. The staff was super friendly, helpful and attentive. 
We went for wine tasting and walked through the winery, which is a must do.
We had dinner the first night of the hotel since we arrived a bit late. Our plans was to have dinner elsewhere the other nights but the food was so excellent we had dinner at the hotel every night. That meant we were not restricted to the car so we could drink before dinner :)

I have stayed at numerous hotels and this hotel goes on my list of only a handful of hotels I would make a trip back to stay at.

The only comment I have is that there may have been a shoe horn in the room and the door knob was not working well. It was bit of a hassle to open the door and one of the rooms never locked (think it was room 201).

Excellent! I will return!

Very nice place looking on the mountain simlo, with a high end vinery.
Quality is first however prices are the same than for a french VC Champaign.
Rooms are with taste done.
For me a pool is defenitly missing and it can not be a 4star place without a pool.

Book. Tour in the vinary which is 5000 huf. 
Is worth! The guid is excellent and you can learn a lot! And is of course tasting inclusive. I can only reccomend!

Nice

We took the vinery guided tour, with wine tasting. Our guide was fantastic both regarding all details of the wine/sparkling wine production and the wines/sparkling winea as well. It is worth to visit if you are at Somlo.
