Richter Pansion

We stayed at Grand Richter for 12 days. The location is easily accessible via public bus, the train from the Ferihegy stop, and the #1 Tram. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The property is spotless. In the lobby you can get coffee, tea, sodas, beer. There is a pub directly across from the Hotel. Right off the lobby, there is a large patio with clearly designated smoking and non-smoking tables. After a hard day of tourism, this provides an oasis of quiet, so you may decompress and prepare for the next day. During our stay, we always felt welcome and that the staff appreciated us as guests. The room had a desk, two side tables, and a fridge. The closets were roomy. The bathroom has a standard issue European shower nozzle so unlike a US shower, be prepared! By the way, the balcony doors opened and this gave us plenty of natural cooling. Finally, the room overlooked the patio. I give the room a 9.9/10 rating. See below for why not 10/10 I will say that the both the pillows and the mattress were very hard and rigid and this definitely is something to change, or at least provide an option for those who prefer a different sleeping surface type. In conclusion: I highly recommend Grand Richter Hotel. From my perspective, the location of the Hotel to the City Center, coupled with the package savings I received when booking through a travel site, plus the overall professionalism of the staff, made this an excellent choice. If I ever return to Budapest, I will strongly consider staying here again.
