We booked the table online, which was easy. 

After arrival we were received by a very friendly service team. They explained, how the ordering process works, properly and they answered all questions related to the dishes as experts in a very friendly manner.
We chose tuna tartar and octopus carpaccio as starters. The dishes were perfectly arranged on the plate and were just delicious! 

After finishing the dishes, the service team was immediately at the table to take away the dirty plates and to deliver the main dish. Just a small suggestion to the service: you may give the guests a little more time to digest the great dish. That was just a little bit too fast.

Main dishes were two different fish soups, the marseille soup and the Nordic soup type. Both were great and we enjoyed the eating of different fish, mussels or other sea food. 

Unfortunately, we were not able to eat a dessert. We are very satisfied with our stay at the restaurant.

Perfect choice for fish

I experienced many other hostels in Budapest and the atmosphere and comfort of this one is the best : it's simple, clean, bright, colorful, spacious and pratical. The owner and the mananger are fine people. They just have to be a little more careful about some volunteers but most of them are always nice, polite and helpful. Concerning guests, I always met friendly and interesting international and hungarian people.

The Best in Budapest

With zero expectations I found a home in Budapest. Was initially searching for a chill hostel where I can get to know awesome travelers, and less drunk tourists. Wellll turns out I picked a 10/10 hostel.
If you're not into the crazy party scene in Budapest and you're genuinely looking for a comfortable stay, interesting people, and a great sleep - this is it.
Super clean, extremely cozy, and the staff - I'm in love. I had the best fckin time with you guys. Mac, Ben, Theo, Gabe, Natalie. Thank you so much for the warm welcome, you have a home in Tel Aviv. Just say when.

LOVE THIS HOSTEL

With the hostel laying near the nightlife clubs it is perfect for those who want to explore the city and also want to enjoy their nights. The hostel offers an atmosphere as where you think you are at home. The staff is really nice and will provide you with everything you need. When we had to check out but had to wait 4 hours for our train they let us stay in the living room where we watched movies with them.

Had a great stay

We went there twice while we were in Budapest.  You get in line and pick out your giant shrimp.  They cook them precisely the way you want them and suggest a good wine to go with them.  We sat outside on a blistering hot night and Big Fish had these lovely sprayers that misted you but somehow didn't mist the food.  It made the evening.

Such a good place

Super chilled out hostel in a great location in Budapest (2 mins away from 1 euro kebabs...can you ask for anything else?). Staff are friendly and do such a fantastic job at keeping the whole place in tip top form - seriously, this place is super clean. 
Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. 
Such great value for money, I wish I stayed longer!

Amazing and clean hostel

Had an excellent stay at big fish hostel. The reception was super friendly and the facilities very clean. Everything is made in order that you feel at home.

Excellent stay at bigfish !

I was originally planned on staying at the big fish one night. That quickly turned in to a week. Everyone there is super friendly and generous. It felt like more a home than a hostel. I would stay here over other Budapest hostels. And Emily, you let me down, you let the fish down, and you let down yourself! I accept your apology! 

Great Experience 

Big Fish hostel is an absolute gem of a place. Homey, welcoming, the perfect place to meet other travellers and explore budapest like a local. The staff are always amazing and helpful. Met some people who will be in my life for a long time. Couldn't fault it.

Home away from home

I backpacked here with a friend recently, the hostel is a bit difficult to find as it is a floor in a big building. The kitchen is clean with nice lounge room for projectors, PC , lazing around etc. 

The staff was helpful to help me reach bus station on time in morning and one of them even walked with me carrying one of my bag to reach on time. 

The location is close to city centre and is a walk away from ruined bars - szimpla and Fogas. I had a good time there and coming back to hostel semi drunk wasnt a huge problem due to the short distance back home. 
Very friendly foreign staff speaking good english so not a huge problem with communication. very informational staff as well. The rooms are typical dorms with quaint furniture and fresh linen and beds.we didn't sleep a lot though as there is a lot to see in the city. Please try their crawls and free tours. 

Thanks to them, I had a pleasant stay and made some good friends as well.
