A++ hotel. Stayed in a family room - great staff and phenomenal location! Subway station is across the street and the tram is a couple of blocks away. A lot of the top sights are within walking distance of the hotel! If ever we come back to Budapest, wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else!

Book this hotel!

Visited with friends for a four day break. Location is perfect about 50 yards from Fashion St (the main shopping street) and the river. Can walk to most things and if can't be bothered the Bolt taxi service (download the app prior to coming) is cheap and efficient.
Breakfast can be busy but choice and quality was good. We tended to go at 10am once quieter. Coffee machine was fine despite other reviews saying otherwise (calgilari brand coffee).

Perfect location, nice staff-good combo

Stayed here with my partner and two children 12 and 10 at the end of November. 
Stayed in the family room which was really nice. Hotel and room was spotless. Location was excellent. 
The children were in a separate room within the actual room. They had a door which could be open or closed. I’d say though if your children were older they probably wouldn’t like the fact they would have to share the bed (there was separate duvet and pillows on the bed however). I found the bed quite comfy although also separate single duvets for the adults too which just didn’t seem big enough and I woke up cold but it’s just because were used to a big duvet. So wasn’t a massive problem unless your on the bigger side. There was loads of storage space for cases and clothes. 
Bathroom was very small. Shower was nice and powerful. 
Air con and heating both available in the room even in November! 
Couldn’t find any stairs so had to use the lift, again not a massive issue didn’t have too long of a wait for them. 
Check-in was very efficient. Staff seemed lovely. 
Breakfast wasn’t really my thing as i struggle with gluten. 
It was a continental breakfast which my partner and children really enjoyed. There was a good selection of cereal, pastries, cold meats and cheese, as well as boiled and scrambled egg and a carbonara as well as a selection of breads. (I stuck to the scrambled egg!) Coffee/tea/hot chocolate and fruit juice was also available. 
At breakfast your not seated, so when busy your just kinda stood around trying to find a seat, would probably be more efficient if you were seated. It’s quite a small area so felt quite uncomfortable when people are stood over you waiting for people to finish. Again not a massive problem just to be aware of this if you go at the busy times. 
All in all had a fantastic time at the D8 hotel and in Budapest. The Hungarian people are so lovely and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back!

Loved our time at this lovely central hotel.

I am so happy I booked this Hotel. Visited for the Christmas Market which by the way was Incredible. Hotel is a stones throw away from the Centre of the Market and the River. Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and bright room breakfast was included and was perfect.  The lift is your room key activation which I loved. Would recommend this 100% and I will definitely book again ❤️

Perfect stay

Central to everything…staff work tirelessly…& always polite…we stayed in a family room no problems at all…room provided us with evening we needed (it’s only a base after all.) 

Breakfast was good & did the trick.

All in all a lovely hotel with no faults…would happily stay here again.

Christmas markets Budapest.

Great hotel and value for your money! Staff is very nice, location is perfect and breakfast is good. Only downsides were that there is no mini fridge in the room and the heating was turned on a little high for our liking, luckily the window could be opened. Overall would 100% recommend this hotel!

Great place to stay

So glad I chose the D8 hotel . I stayed here with my son and we absolutely loved it. The stay started well as our room was ready even though we arrived early. Everyone was so friendly, we loved our room and the hotel decor , which felt very fresh. The beds were actually very comfortable and the shower was fantastic. We were next to the lifts but we didn’t hear them at all and we didn’t hear any noise from other rooms ( didn’t hear any slamming doors for example) We enjoyed the breakfasts which were nice, even though breakfast was busy everything was very efficient. The hotel is in a super location, near to the river , metro stations etc and it was easy to get around. The bar was great , as was the atmosphere and the wifi , my son made the most of it! Last time I visited I stayed in a more expensive hotel but the D8 was much more fun. They were also super helpful when I left my bag in the airport taxi , they sorted everything out and my bag & I were reunited!  I will definitely return as I love Budapest and the D8 Hotel.

Brilliant

Lovely hotel close to the main Vaci street and very helpful staff.  Easy to get around and hop off bus down the road .  A walk to the chain bridge and further along to the Shoes on the Danube a short walk away from
The hotel.  Lovely weather in October too.  Zip up and t shirts advisable.

D8 City Break

This hotel is in a perfect location to explore the city. The room and breakfast were both very good. Comfy and large bed and the breakfast provided many different choices. The staff are very friendly and helpful I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

Great location, comfy rooms, tasty breakfast

Stayed here in September 2024 for 3 nights as a group of 3 friends in a family room. We were on the 1st floor and found the room to be spacious, clean and comfortable. Beds were big with single duvets which suited us. Bathroom was clean, shower powerful and warm. The location is perfect. Breakfast was fine usual things we all found something to eat before a day out. WiFi was patchy but we were ok to go between that and data. We arrived late, someone was at reception ready to check us in. This was done quickly as was check out with friendly staff. Had drinks at the bar one night, it was quiet, good selection, comfy seating. Would recommend this hotel to all.
