The staff is super helpful, every little request related to our baby was fulfilled with a smile. The food is good at the restaurant, it's very cheap, but the quality is a bit better than what you'd expect for the money. The service of the restaurant is helpful. The only drawback we could experience is the overall status of our room, at some places, the painting wasn't perfect (water stains), and small things like that. Overall for the price, we were satisfied, they did not bill us on the daily room rate despite that we did not book in advance at all. Big plus that they allowed us to stay in the room until 7PM at the day of checkout for a small fee (3000 Ft), that normally does not allow you that long extra stay. We did not try the wellness area, but it seemed decent.

Short visit with a baby

Berekfurdo is a spa town;  for those looking for a relaxed week of outdoor thermal pools, swimming, and sun bathing, it's a great location.  There are a number of apartments and rooms available to rent, but only 3 hotels in the village.  We've not stayed at the other hotels, but found the Thermal Hotel Szivek to be the best location, newest build, and good service.

The hotel is almost directly opposite the Thermal Baths.  It has a large car park, friendly reception, and a good sized restaurant serving breakfast and half-board dinner.  The hotel boasts indoor and outdoor private pools and a jacuzzi.  Rooms are simply furnished, but clean and a good size,

Prices are good at around 70 euros a night for half-board.  There are 3 rooms on the 1st floor with balconies, and I would recommend these if you can get them.

Only negative point is that there is no daily room cleaning, instead providing a cleaning service around twice a week.  I've also experienced this in other hotels in Budapest, so I think this is an industry standard in 3 star hotels.  If you ask reception, they'll happily arrange more regular cleaning,.

Best located hotel in Berekfurdo

We are three families from Poland - travelling around Hungary, incidentally found Hotel Szivek. Without reservations three rooms were available. Thanks God - all airconditioned. That time temperature in Hungary was very high - we had a good rest in our rooms. During the day the nice swimming pool and other water related facilities kept us in good condotion and very good  mood :) Breakfast and dionner available (included in hotel fare). Various selection of meals made us also satisfied.Except one day when we found the brain served for dinner. Unfortunately no information in other languages of served meals - we realised what we eat only after asking the waiter. The room service is not much motivated, we had to ask several times to vacuum clean the carpet in our room. Generally good place to stay either for family with kids (swimming facility is safe - including small pool for children) or for elderly people (elevator is installed). Also the thermal bath containing source water - very good for many health problems. We consider to be back there next year.
