For a visit to the historic old town of Pecs and surroundings, we booked this hotel. It is very cheap, a super plus, both to the train station and the bus station, everything is easily accessible on foot. The old town is also not far away. The ambience is not particularly noteworthy. The room is quite large and has two seating areas. Assistant table and desk. The bathroom is ok, modern fittings. The staff is friendly and helpful. Beautiful large windows. Quiet. Unfortunately carpet floors. The fluid containers with soap are empty and do not work. Own soap is used. Despite all the price/performance is correct.

Best location!

This is my third stay at the Fordan hotel. The hotel is very conveniently located near the city centre, shopping and transportation. The hotel is clean, quiet and a great place to relax after a long day of work. 

Most importantly though is the service provided by the staff. Everyone there is very nice and each person seems to go out of their way to make me feel special. 

I’ll be back again on my next trip to Pécs!

Feeling Special at the Fordan 

Although the first impression outside the building was not very good, the reality is that we are facing a good hotel. Renovated, functional, clean and with excellent personal treatment. We booked a standard room and were given a very spacious and comfortable apartment. The parking is free. The situation is very good. The breakfast is good. In short, a very recommended hotel.

This is my second extended stay st the Fordan. It's a nice hotel and in a prime location  but what really sets it apart is the service. The staff here are all very friendly and go out if their way to make the stay enjoyable. I love the breakfasts and the kitchen and wait staff make me feel like family rather than a stranger. 

I'll be back here for sure the next time I'm in Pecs. 

Second Stay at the Fordan

I visited the billiards at Fordan Center Hotel...The place is a very good spot to play billiards: tables are clean and new, the cues are in good conditions, and the bar has a good offer.

Service was friendly, timely and efficient...We had a nice time playing pool in this place.

Fordan Hotel is well situated. Only 5 minutes walk to the town centre. The rooms are big in size, comfortable and clean.

Unfortunately all is spoiled by the poor customer service. Hardly no one spoke English, which  by the way is the same throughout Pecs. The staff are poorly trained and would not go out of their way to help the guest.  They seem to have a poor understanding of hospitality services. The reception closed every night even though the hotel was full.

Avoid the hotel's restuarant if going in large groups. Large I mean more than 5.

Pecs in itself has a very clean city centre and shopping centre but once again restuarants and shops lacked customer services. Clearly Pecs is not a touristic destination.

In summary a destination I would avoid going again.

Comfortable Room, poor service.

We found a bed for our baby almost better than what we have at home! During our stay there were problems with the restaurant, so the half pension we had booked (and already paid during check-in) was not to say complicated, also because there was a bit of disorganization from the staff. The staff was nevertheless always very kind and almost everyone spoke a decent English. Apart from this aspect related to the restaurant, it was a pleasant stay: the hotel is beautiful and has a strategic location relative to the center. There is also a gracious shopping center across the street.

Surely to be kept in mind

We stayed at this hotel for a week at the 2015 Europacantat Festival. We were given a room (104) at the end of a hallway that was heavily exposed to the sun. The climate was there but not very efficient. The carpet was dirty and a chair. At our request, it was replaced. The bathroom was correct and the bed didn't seem suspicious to us. There was no shampoo or soap in the bathroom. The clinch of this room was badly fixed and fell off about one night at a time. The replacement of the mattresses and bed sheets came from the same room... rather than the cleaning of the room.
