Lovely room with terrace, welcoming staff and excellent roast goose for dinner! The house Tokay wine was first-class and good value. ‘International’ standard facilities but still very warm, Hungarian feel. 
We were on a cycling tour, and most grateful to the Vizsoly bible-printer who directed us to Aranyhordo.

Generous hospitality

We had just arrived in Hungary and after a long drive north we reached our first stay.
My overall impression was very clean and tidy. As many other people who stay here we were also on a bird watching holiday,The rooms also have air conditioning. The food Is excellent with a lot of traditional meals  to enjoy.

Lovely location

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a birding trip, having previously stayed down south in Kiskunsag National Park. Whilst the accommodation may be considered basic by others it depends what you compare it with. I've stayed in much worse B&Bs in the UK but if you compare it to food destination hotels it bound to come of second best. For me the room was clean, comfortable and quiet and was serviced each day, including fresh towels on the third day, shower was hot food was excellent with a wide choice off breakfast hot food ( ham & eggs, omelettes, frankfurters, eggy bread, french toast) as much tea,coffee and toast as you could want. Evening meals were equally good with traditional hungarian dishes all excellent. The 7 bean stew was the stand out starter and the wild boar with a gnocchi,curd combo  a gorgeous main course. Beer and wine good and great value - have the 6 Puttonyos Tokaj. All staff from the two brother owners to the waitresses couldn't do enough for us - All in all an outstanding, vfm stop, that should be judged on it's own merits

Comfortable, friendly, good traditional food

Stayed here as part of a bird/wildlife trip. Rooms are pretty basic and those fronting the road are quite noisy. Rooms are not serviced unless you happen to be there when the cleaner comes along. A dog barked the entire first night so we never slept at all. The manager spoke to the occupant of the property with the dog and it was agreed that the dog would be kept inside for our remaining two nights. We slept well after that. The restaurant is another story, the food was excellent and plentiful if not a little stodgy, breakfast was outstanding with plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful and polite. The village has nothing else other than a small Co-op a few hundred yards away with barely anything for sale but there are some nice walks around about. Internet access is available.
