First meal out after the pandemic. The food is still delicious and offers  vast proportoins. Nice welcoming staff great venue with babies and toddlers. Fair pricing, still had the charm, would be my first coiche for any family occasion and anniversary

Evening out

THis is not the first time I have been to this restaurant and the experience is always the same: we have to wash all of our clothes because the whole place smells oily. Whe nthe sun shines into the inner rooms of the restaurant you can see the misty air that is so disturbing. Food is not the best quality, there are many other places you can go to if you have the chance.

Awfully smelly and poor quality food

Six of us had a late lunch at the restaurant.  The venison ragout was excellent.  The salad bar is all vegetables nicely dressed in vinegar (savánúsag) and a good contrast to the rich sauce with the venison.  Another guest ordered potato dumplings fried with onions which was terrific!  I haven't had these before.  Think of gnocchi with crisp onions.  Yumnm!

I could taste the grape in  house dry red wine.  It was sturdy enough ot sip with the meal.  

Service was excellent - thoughtful, competent, and unobrursive.

Good value, good food

Together with my girlfriend we spent one night in this hotel on May 13th, 2017. I reserved an apartment there through booking.com, but when I came there it was a huge disappointment. The only reason I decided to make a reservation in this hotel was the advertised beautiful big apartment with bath, minibar & kitchen. Right after I came there I was asked to pay for the accommodation, I felt it was quite strange because I usually pay the bill upon leaving the hotel. They didn’t accept my Dinners Club credit card, even though it was written on the entrance door to the hotel that you are welcome to use it. After the payment I got the key to my room number 107 on the first floor. It was a totally different room than I ordered – was about half the size, with no kitchen, minibar or bath. I complained to the receptionist immediately after I opened the door. She first told me they have no other room available. When I showed her my reservation confirmation from Booking.com, she called the hotel manager. Once again the answer was that the ordered apartment is not available because they gave it to other (probably more important) guests. I was offered no financial compensation or apology from the hotel manager or the owner. Even the customer service representative of Booking.com was not able to get in touch with the hotel and solve the problem. In the the evening, when I came back to the hotel the receptionist gave me 5€ from the hotel owner as a compensation, he just left it there for me with no apology or explanation. When I finally settled in the room I found that the TV is useless since there were only 4 Hungarian TV programs available. There was only one towel per guest (no shampoo or shower gel). Later I found that my bed-clothes were dirty, there were some old blood stains on it. Our room was right next to the reception hall and since there were many quests sitting there, drinking and having loud party together, we could not sleep until at least one o’clock in the morning. Next day, when the sun came out, I saw the poor state of the hotel furniture and many of the hotel facilities, including the dining hall. The breakfast was very simple, with quite limited choice of offered food. I am a business traveler and every year I usually visit at least 30 different hotels, therefore I feel confident to give you an advice to avoid staying in this hotel. In the price range of this hotel you can find much better accommodation possibilities with an incomparably higher quality of service.

Avoid staying in this hotel

We always go here to eat every time we visit Szombathely. Incredible game meat. Very cheap and good service. A real treat. We look forward to returning every time we're back in town. Try their meat platter. On a final note, the foie gras is exceptional.

Been many times

WOW - I have used this hotel since 2005. I love it just love it. I think there are 9 rooms all en-suite clean tidy and comfortable. Breakfast is continental and fresh, coffee machine so the espresso is great. Free internet and parking, sat TV in each room. Small cosy bar... And then the restaurant OMG I have to say this is just the best food really the quality of food and quantity for the money is exceptional.....
Love it - The staff too . . . Hi Monika :-) Just great friendly bar staff restaurant staff etc. Give it a go you will not be disappointed. Just the best value for money. Do not expect the Ritz.... But you will be treated like Royalty for 25% of the price!
