This hotel was miserable to check in to. The email they sent with instructions did not have the right room number listed and I had to walk to a different property to get clarification. When I came back the doors were open and anyone could have walked in and taken our room. It was not safe and it was not pleasant. Please spend a few more dollars for a hotel that is actually worth staying at.

DO NOT STAY HERE

I stayed there for 3 night’s and it was nice.    
Easy to book and it was everything I hope for 
Bedroom was clean and the kitchen was clean and had everything I needed. The room was clean and beds were nice and I will definitely come back 

Nice room 

Good value for price accommodation with restaurants and shops within walking distance in Akureyri. Only small points for criticism is, that the room could have been cleaned a bit more thoroughly. Also the owner seemed a bit surprised by our arrival. Other than that not much to complain, fully equipped appartment, good price.

Great value for price

We had a wonderful time in this place as the uppermost floor was very spacious for the 9 of us.  It has a fully equipped kitchen facility, washing machine with dryer, soap powder & clothes hanger, and balcony with beautiful view of the fjord.
The location is strategic as it is within walking distance to Akureyrarkirkja Church, Botanical Garden and the city centre with choices of great restaurants.
Parking is free and by the side of Our Guesthouse building.
Owner Gunnar and staff are friendly and helpful.

Strategic location

This was our second time in this wonderful guesthouse.  It's central, clean, and the beds and linen are super.
Restaurants, bars and clubs are all within a walking distance and the harbor.
The sea side is just few steps away and the views over the fjord are incredible.
We came late and check in was as easy ss could get.
Highly recommended.  

Our second time in Our Guesthouse 

I had a reservation and arrived at 9:00pm to find the front desk dark. There was a sign advising to call a number (though my cell phone couldn't make calls in Iceland) or send a WhatsApp message (which went unanswered for over an hour) for check-in. I went to a different hotel and stayed there. I do not recommend Our Guesthouse if you're arriving perhaps after dinnertime, and especially if your phone can't make calls in Iceland.

Not easy to check in!

Me and my childhood friend were traveling around Iceland and had a couple of days in Akureyri when we stumbled on this lovely Guest House . The whole place was spotless clean and warm with good quality bed linen and great showers . Will definitely recommend it as it was the best Guest House we stayed in whole Iceland! 

2 days in Winter Wonderland 

We raelly enjoied our stay here, really reccommend it. It is very close to the center, calm, comfortable beds, nice view, nice atmosfere, good price, good coffee un the kitchen and the place is very clean

Good and calm place, next to the center

This was a great stay. We stayed in one of the studios. It was perfect! It was very spacious, had an array of amenities with built in kitchenette and was very clean. The location of Our Guesthouse was great too! We were able to park our car on site for free and then it was literally a 3-5 min walk into the downtown shopping and eating district. My only bother was that there was no elevator in the building so dragging luggage up and down the stairs (lucky we were only on the first floor) was a bit of a pain but overall didn't deter from the rest of the overall great experience at this property.
