This was by far the most amazing place we stayed in Iceland. We absolutely LOVED the location (with views of the fjord right outside our window!), the restaurant was delicious (for both the breakfast buffet and dinners) and the hospitality was top notch. The spa was was the most incredibly relaxing experience with its location right onsite; I highly recommend trying a seaweed bath! Blabjorg Resort is a place I dream of returning to on future adventures to Iceland. <3

Amazing Views, Cozy Vibes, and Seclusion in Nature

We rented the 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was very nice and comfortable. It included a washer and dryer. When we checked in, we were informed the water in town was “slightly contaminated” with e-coli. We were advised to boil the water before use or use bottled water. They provided 2 bottles of water for 5 people. We ate in the restaurant, which was very good. Breakfast was great with eggs, sausage, bread, pastries, deli meats and cheese.

Nice accommodations

Pros:
- best reception experience during our stay – front desk had great enthusiasm and interest in guests, and was able to go above and beyond with a dinner request
- breakfast spread was one of the best we had, with scrambled eggs and sausage, as well as a coffee machine for custom brews
- breakfast area extends upstairs to accommodate more guests during busy time
- the three bedroom, two bathroom apartment concept is VERY spacious, the largest area by space we stayed at and had a laundry setup
- very clean and upkept room, chocolates on dining table were a nice touch
- very close to puffin viewing approx. 10 min nearby!

Cons:
- kitchen ran out of sausage during breakfast (suggest arriving earlier in case)
- advisory to limit water use as the area does not have geothermal service 

Summary: Blábjörg Resort is a highly recommended stay in the east-end of island, especially if you are looking to view puffins. Staff went out of their way to make use feel very welcome and the stay extra pleasant. Would recommend apartment suite as an option for larger groups as it is more affordable than two/three separate rooms, thus presents an excellent value proposition. Spacious apartment, wonderful staff, highly recommended!

We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms. Our room was fantastic! It had a balcony overlooking the ocean and the room itself and the bathroom were both very large.

My only complaint was that there was a charge to use the pools and hot tub. I didn’t read anywhere that there was a charge. I think it was listed as a “spa” so I guess I’m supposed to know that means there is a charge. Since the pools were listed so prominently in all of the photos I assumed it was included.

The breakfast buffet was good and they had a lot of homemade items (breads and jams)that we didn’t see at some of our other hotels.

Other than the pool issue our room was fantastic and it was reasonably priced for Iceland. I would have no problem returning and staying in a deluxe room

Cost for pools/hot tub

3 of us stayed in the studio apartment for 2 nights after 4 days walking through the Eastern fjords. The apartment was clean, spacious, and the beds were comfy. There was tea and coffee provided, but no milk, which was a little odd. We had a decked area in front of the apartment, with fantastic view across the bay. The only downside was that it was too hot without leaving the door or window open, and then the little black flies got in. Not that they seemed to be biting ones.
Ate in the restaurant both nights and were very happy with the food and service. Breakfasts were pretty good too - lots of homemade stuff, plenty of choice, just not much in the way of hot, just scrambled eggs and sausages.
Reception were there when we needed to ask questions, and were helpful.

Very much enjoyed our stay.

We stopped of on our tour of Iceland and what a drive down amazing. A hidden gem. Staff are friendly and hotel is very modern and clean. We stayed for 1 night but wished we stayed longer. Breakfast is included and most items are freshly made and floavourism from the carrot and marmalade jam to the home made bread. There is an iPad in your room to help you enjoy your stay with tips and advise. Our room had a private balcony looking into the sea. We had dinner at their restaurant and was fantastic. Only shame was the micro brewery was closed even though I emailed to ask about booking a tour and was told no need we are open just pop in.

Tour of Iceland

After driving a long distance, we arrived at this remote, quiet town after dark at 8:30 pm.  We were startled by the warm welcome at the guesthouse reception and the very swanky, foodie vibe of the attached restaurant, Frystiklefinn.  We managed to order dinner before the kitchen closed - enjoyed their very interesting dishes and beer.  Note, we stayed in the "hostel" annex, which has a large common area and kitchen, and shared hall baths/WC.  The hotel has other rooms with in-room bath/WC.  While my companion is not a fan of shared baths/WC, our hall neighbors were quiet and respectful, so the arrangement was fine.  Our room was small, but very pretty (such a comfortable bed!).  Great shower and fantastic breakfast buffet (included in room rate), served in aforementioned restaurant, Frystiklefinn.  One of the best breakfasts in our 11-day trip.  FYI, this guesthouse has fee-based spa amenities, which we did not use.   

Surprising Luxury in Quiet Remote Iceland

Beautiful room, comfortable bed and a view of the bay. Good bathroom, maybe needs an extractor fan. There was delicious coffee in the room. The breakfast was great. The restaurant also served a delicious dinner, you may need to book ahead. We managed to see one puffin from the site nearby (the rest had flown off to their ocean home) and also had a delightful short hike across the foothills around the town. Highly recommend, we only stayed for a day but wished we had a couple more.

Wonderful location and rooms

We were warmly welcomed on our arrival to Blabjorg  Resort and were immediately impressed with the standard of the property and the facilities on offer. Our room was clean and comfortable and despite a sloped ceiling was relatively spacious. It made use of shared bathrooms but we never had any issue getting in to them when we needed to. The kitchen/lounge area next to the rooms was also very welcome and there were ample facilities to cook if you wanted.

As it was raining heavily when we arrived we spent a bit of time in Blabjorg's bar/restaurant as well as in the on site brewery bar. Having not been aware of this when we booked we were delighted to have this so close and loved watching the Iceland football team in action while in there. Our food (order from the main restaurant and take it into the brewery bar) and beers were first class and the service was excellent too.

Our breakfast the next morning was not only the best breakfast we had on our Iceland trip but also possibly the best hotel breakfast we've ever eaten. There was a huge selection of fresh, homecooked products and our only problem was deciding when to stop eating! We really can't praise the breakfast enough. It was that good and means we have a very positive opinion of Blabjorg.

Wonderfully atmospheric property, well maintained with stunning views to sea.

I was solo and off-season and made very welcome. The restaurant association with Blábjörg is stunning, just amazing food. 

Bathroom was shared however everything including private bedroom was spotless.
