Quiet, well run guesthouse.  Hostess provided excellent service and made several very helpful suggestions.  Single room was comfortable size.  Common areas were comfortable.  Kitchen and laundry facilities were great.  Farm dogs were friendly and wanted to play if they weren't working.

Cozy, welcoming guesthouse

Good breakfast with skyr. Modern and clean common bathrooms. Hot pool outside a nice bonus in cool and windy weather. There's not much nearby, but good for a stay during a tour to Snaefellsnes and Hraunfossar.

A big house in the Reykholt area (be aware that there is another Reykholt....).
Not too far from Krauma spa.
The room was old but clean. The place is a good option for an overnight stay along a trip.
The small hot tub was just perfect !!! afrer a long driving day it was the best way to relax.
The area is green and peaceful. Very realxing.

Owner welcomed us the description is as expected we had a nice time over there (too short) en the hot bath was very nice for all of us...

What a nice place : superb view , confort rooms, good  breakfast ...

First of all a huge thank you to the owners that helped us when we got stuck in the mountains with the car. They also gave us tips of what to do and where to go. 
The cottage was absolutely amazing, close to Husafell (meeting point for glacier excursions) and to Hraunfossar Waterfall but at the same time with nothing surrounded. Kitchen perfectly equipped to make your own dinner and fresh and varied breakfast. Also there is a living room with TV, books and board games! Hot tub available in the front while enjoying the amazing view.
And for dog lovers... Smale! A beautiful and educated Border Collie (no allowed to get into the cottage) that is willing for cuddles if you fancy to!
Last but not least good quality price! 

Perfect staying 

When I arrived I was greeted by the owner and her lovely dog! She showed me around the house before I was guided to my private room which had all the basic needs, in the house is a fully equipped kitchen and three bathrooms. All facilities are available and even a nice hot tub if you want! Breakfast the next morning was a nice touch as well.

But really, the dog is an amazing host and was waiting for me when I left and when I arrived, it was a cutie! 

An amazing place!

Steindorsstadir is in a lovely setting!  The rooms are spacious enough and the beds comfy. Shared bathrooms are adequate (3) for a houseful. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Coffee, as in most places in Iceland, was great!

Great place for a group to stay!

We had a great stay here for one night while touring Iceland's Route One.  You'll likely be greeted by one of the two dogs that live at the farm. The room was nice, plenty of space, two twin beds with a desk in the middle.  The room had a sink and a mirror which was nice for brushing teeth before bed and not needing to go downstairs to the shared bathrooms.  There were two shared bathrooms each had a toilet and shower.  The breakfast the morning we departed was great.  The hot tub was nice after doing some hiking, I'm sure it made the local beer picked up at the gas station taste better!  Most guest houses in Iceland ask you to remove your shoes, that goes here so bring slippers or house shoes if you don't want to walk around in your socks.

Aong Route One

First of all, the beds are phenomenal! The kitchen is also nice, with enough facilities to do some proper cooking of your own. The location is remote, but quiet with a great view on the valley. It's also close to Hraunfossar, a must-see in the area.

It was rainy while we were there, but we can imagine that this would be a good spot for Northern Lights viewing too.

Recommended!

Remarkable location.

All rooms have shared bathrooms, what is no problem. The bathrooms (2 of them) a very clean and modern. You could also use a washing-machine and there is also a hot tub on the veranda. The breakfast was very good and had a good variety. The kitchen also offered a water-boiler, tee and coffee for the time of your stay!
