A stop along the Ring road.  We spent one night here.  The room was a bit small, but fine for a one night stay.  Apparently our rate didn't include breakfast, so I can't report on that.  We ate next door for dinner, the Hafnarbudn, and I highly recommend it!  It's a small place, but the service is good and the food nice, warm, and tasty.

Small room, but it works!

This hotel couldn’t be in a more picturesque spot - large windows open on the harbor and majestic mountains. It is clean and cozy, staff is welcoming. Unfortunately single beds are very soft. We did not have breakfast here. Comfy lobby with happy hour.

Picturesque Inn

Very nice stay while driving the ring road.  The property sits at he base of a peninsula jutting into the sea.  Very picturesque.  The staff was very accommodating as well.

Be sure to take advantage of their happy hour and enjoy their deck.  the views are really nice.

All of the restaurants in town are within a five minute walk, so you have choices.  The diner across the street was actually very good and reasonably priced.

Hofn Hotel - Great place

Location was good as it overlooked the sea. Room was comfortable although one of the windows were broken and there was no rubbish bin in the room and no toilet brush in the bathroom. Staff were friendly and breakfast was OK. Free parking available on site. We booked this hotel pre covid for travel in 2020 and were disappointed that in three years the prices had increased by more than 50%. 

A ordinary Hotel

Great location with sea/mountain views on one side and harbour views on the other. Rooms appear recently refurbished. Lots of parking and within walking distance of Hofn restaurants (we went to Pizzeria). Bar area in reception with outside patio terrace seating. Great breakfast with hot and cold buffet. No lift to first floor but luggage assistance offered.

Great location

Besides having some difficulty finding this place, I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.  On ons side of it is the waterfront with a nice walking path to the water and on the other side is an amazing restaurant for a meal.

The room was nice, comfortable and the bathroom was clean as well.

We only had a short stay but we enjoyed it.  During Covid even with no cancellation, they accomodated our dates changes for almost 3 years due to travel restrictions and other issues. 

Highly recommend if you want to stay in the Hofn area.

Lovely Stay

I would have given 3.5 stars if I could. Good location, lovely views especially on the western (lake) side. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate without being anything special. The rooms are reasonable size and the beds are comfortable but the bathrooms are pokey and the shower very small with a shower curtain - I hate shower curtains- which clings to you and makes showers uncomfortable.

Lovely location and views but tiny inadequate bathrooms

The rooms were clean but outdated. Toiletries were of high quality. Towels were clean. Beds were comfortable.  
The absence of a room kettle was made worse by the bad explanation that using it would activate the smoke alarm. I’ve not seen any hotel room without smoke alarms and kettles function normally in them. The reception staff expected us to walk out of our room and boil ourselves hot water each time we wanted to make a cup of tea with the tiny cup that was given. This meant queueing up behind whichever guest/s who were already using the one SINGLE kettle in the entire hotel!! All guests were expected to come out of their rooms to boil water with this single kettle. The room was dim and there was only 5 sheets of tissue in the box provided.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone if things remain unchanged.

This was one of my top favorite hotels I stayed during my ring road trip.  The room was clean with a nice view of the lake.  The room was spacious for two suitcases.   After a long day of driving it was convenient for restaurants to be within walking distance to the hotels.  Finally a room with built in USB ports. 

Clean and comfortable room.

This is a fairly basic hotel but it is a worth a visit for the brilliant views from the rooms facing the bay and the receptionist.

The receptionist was friendly, very helpful and had a great sense of humour. It is definitely worth listening to her restaurant recommendations and suggestions for places to visit.

Some of the rooms face the port rather than the bay. I think when there are two couples booking in it would be better if they both had rooms facing the same way.
