We just fell in love with this place. In the middle of nowhere, so you have to drive a long way to Husavik or Myvatn, but everything else was just fantastic. The room was clean and compact, but we could fit everything in. Bathrooms were clean and the shower worked nicely.

Best thing was the very pleasent people owning the place. They made the breakfast and dinner (19-20:30 by request, so remember to ask for it) for us. Breakfast was included and the beer and soda from the bar and dinner was super cheap, because they wanted to keep everything affordable. I chatted with the owner for a good while and he was super nice and helpful.

The surroundings were really nice, great views of Langavatn lake and the hills, lot of sheep were wandering around eating (just like all over Iceland) and you can fish in the lake if you want. Wifi was fast, which was important because the cellular network was not stellar here.

If you drive from the south, prepare for nice rollercoaster ride in the newly made road!

Lovely place in the middle of nowhere

We were passing through and stayed here for two nights. we had the small wooden hut to ourselves, it was beautiful, a very familiar environment, everyone was very welcoming and attentive, the breakfast was plentiful and beautifully prepared, the dinner was also really perfect.

Amazing

Great experience staying in the private cabin with private bath for 2 nights while exploring the area around Myvatn Lake. We were graciously welcomed to Langavatn guesthouse and were glad to have the wonderful view from our window. We also appreciated having a private porch and extra space inside as well. Breakfast was nice and our hosts patiently answered questions we had about driving distances etc.

A bit remote, still enjoyed our stay

A lovely place with even lovelier people. Everyone is fluent in English. The dinner (Icelandic fishsoup with freshly baked bread) was amazing. Breakfast was also great. Complimentary coffee and tea all day long. Rooms are clean and cozy. The shared bathroom was really clean as well. 

Amazing guesthouse

Lovely guesthouse where we stayed for two nights in one of the cabins next to the guesthouse 

Staff really helpful and able to answer our questions.

Breakfast is continental style and special wishes are fulfilled.

Evert morning a fixed menu is announced for the evening.

Only downside is the long distance to any other thing.

We recommend the guesthouse.

Lovely guesthouse

We were a little concerned when we drove up to the guesthouse. There is litterally nothing else there. But the owner was very nice and the homecooked soup was excellent! They even have a bar there. There are two toilets, one with a shower that is shared with the guests in the house. 

Just stayed overnight

We had a beautiful cabin and the food was fabulous, but the best thing about this place is the people who run it, who are very interesting people and super-friendly. They’ll also give you advice about what to do and see in the area. It's also small enough so you can get to know other guests at meal time if you want to.

Great stay!

Of all the places I've stayed in Iceland, I loved this one the most. It's a restored farmhouse on the edge of a lake, with a new section added (very tastefully) to make a large, pine-walled eating and lounge area. I was there when it had been snowing, and the views over the lake and across the fields to the mountains were lovely and peaceful. The nearest other buildings are tiny in the distance; they too are original farm buildings, where the parents of the couple who run the guesthouse have lived all their lives. 
Our host was most friendly and generous with his time. He told us about sheep-raising in the area and showed a video of the annual round-up, with traditional clothes and songs. He also took time to chat with us about various aspects of life in Iceland, and generally made us feel like real guests. After a snow fall, he made sure it was easy for us to get out of the driveway by driving it himself so we could easily see where we were going.
The location is perfect, half way between Lake Myvatn to the south-east and Husavik and Asbyrgi canyon to the north. We were able to explore both areas at leisure, and return to a comfortable night in the peaceful countryside and a tasty breakfast in the morning. 
I will be coming back here on my next visit to Iceland, no question.

Wanted to stay for weeks

Very nice location in a farm. We were family of 5 and got two adjacent rooms. In compression to other accommodations we had along our 12 days in Iceland, here you pay the highest price, while standard things like WiFi and TV in the room were absent. Furthermore, after on (short) shower, the hot water run-out. 
On the positive side, the owners were very friendly and helpful and they have very nice and guest room in which you can spend your time.

Nice but a little bit costly

A very quiet place to stay and central starting point to explore the surroundings: Husavik and its whales and "lundi", Myvatn, Godafoss and the North-East of the country. Each day, the tenant proposes a dinner (not included), and makes her own bread (tasty).
This is one of the places where we preferred to stay during our trip in Iceland.
