Our stay at Fosshotel Hellnar was perfect! The view was incredible, the food delicious, and the room was amazing. We highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Lovely room, friendly staff, excellent view, wonderful breakfast! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, even though the weather was not the best. 
Our room did not face the ocean, but we got to enjoy the view from the breakfast room. Overall: highly recommended!

Beautiful location, simple room, like staying at a family cottage by the sea.  I Highly recommend this hotel.

Perfect location.

The room was very small. The curtains didn’t come close to blocking out light. You had to walk through the middle of the restaurant to get to your room. There’s a couple other options in the area, I’d choose those.

Quite isolated, we liked it. Satisfactory catering, nothing more.
Sufficient comfort despite Wi-Fi and heating outages resolved within 2 to 10 hours.

We completely enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Hellnar is a beautiful place and the hotel was a perfect complement to the surroundings. We stayed two nights and explored the local area and many of the sights on the peninsula but we wish we would have stayed longer. There is so much to see!

Perfect Complement to the Natural Surroundings

Great time, clean, pleasant, peaceful. The experience was really easy with respect to checking in and managing the room. The location was pretty remote but that was exactly what I was looking for when I booked.

Solo stay at Fosshotel hellnar

Beautiful location right on the ocean in Brekkubaer, Iceland. The beds are comfortable and the rooms very clean. The hotel is located near the picturesque Snaefellsjokull National Park,Djupalon Beach, Malarrif, and Arnarstapi Beach. The staff are very helpful, hospitable, polite and energetic!  The dinner at the hotel was excellent as we feasted on fresh fish, lamb and beef!  Fabulous experience!  

A trip to Iceland we had planned all our lives.  We knew Iceland was expensive.  Hotel was basic but ok.  Bathrooms ridiculously small for large western frames.  The 3 course dinner was very enjoyable but in all our 70 years in 63 countries, the most expensive meal we have ever had!!!

Great Location.  Hotel a compromise

Wonderful location on the water, watched the sun rise over coffee from the restaurant in the morning. We had 2 rooms, our Room was not large, but spacious enough for a couple and our luggage. Very clean, Comfortable, a small window could be opened to allow air flow and cooling during sleep.
Dinner was FABULOUS. Our party of 5 all selected different entrees and they were all delicious.
Staff were kind and gracious, breakfast was also quite good. No complaints!~

We stayed for one night, on the day we traveled there it was EXTREMELY windy. 3 of our group had a triple in the rear building, and told us the wind whistled through their door all night. We had no issues in our room. Their door faced NNE and our door was inside, but our window which was open faced WNW.
