This restaurant and its family staff was incredible and, to show that, we ended up coming here 4 separate times over a day-and-a-half period to do everything from enjoy some evening drinks, have a few meals, play mini-golf, free of charge, on their course right outside, to having my son play his first game of pool and sink his first-ever shot to the way they turned on their huge television and allowed him to watch himself on a YouTube video he just made, to playing darts (that were cleaned for us) on their multiple dartboards.

The food - Icelandic Soup, amazing burgers - filled our stomachs and the hosts genuinely wanted to speak to us wherever we were in the restaurant, and they answered so many of our questions re: our first 2 weeks traveling through the country.  They were Lonely Planet's with smiles and great personalities.

I would give this restaurant the highest rating I have ever given a restaurant.  The food is wonderful.  The family is absolutely lovely.

Best Place in Reydarfjordur

Wasn't 100% sure what to expect: from the outside the rooms resemble a motel or fire station and it appears to be next to the bar from Netflix's Fortitude! But this place was a gem! The friendly staff were very helpful when we we running late for check-in and ensured us we'd get fed even if we were running late. The rooms were very clean, modern and spacious and the guesthouse and restaurant full of character. Food, beer and service was great too! We walked some of the town the next day and wish we'd spent more time here. Thanks you Taergesen.

We loved it here - great service and full of character

We stayed there for a night with my partner. Accommodation was ok-ish although a bit pricey. Dinner was bland, sadly the case with most places we’ve eaten in Iceland. I’m not sure if there are more options around but especially when it comes to dining , I’d skip that one 

Basic accommodation and food 

Stoppuðum til að fá okkur að borða. Virtist lítið að gera, var ekki sitið við helmingi borðana. Biðum í 1 og hálfan klukkutíma frá því við pöntuðum þar til maturinn kom. 1 af 4 kótelettonum greinilega upphituð og hörð. Kjúklingurinn þurr og franskarnar brögðuðust og litu út eins og þær hefðu verið tví steiktar. Eigandin með 0 þjónustulund, snéri i raun útúr með sögu um eitthvað annað veitingarhús með lengri biðtíma sem kom mér bara ekki rasgat við!!

We stopped to get something to eat. Seemed like there was not much to do, there were not costumers at half the tables. We waited for 1 and a half hours from the time we ordered until the food arrived. 1 of 4 kótelettur (meat) clearly heated and hard. The chicken was dry and the france fries tasted and looked like they had been fried twice. The owner with 0 service spirit, actually twisted with a story about another restaurant with a longer waiting time that I did not at all need to hear.  Do not recomend at all!!

Terrible!

I had a bike accident nearby and had to stay for several days to cure and waiting until my bike was repaired.
I had a great support of the owner and she made it possible for me to stay although she was very busy  with a big group.
The room was clean and comfortable, the food at the restaurant was good and the staff was very friendly.

Great support after bike accident

We had a good night stay at the rooms with private bathroom in the seperate building. The place seems to be new or renovated. Dinner in the restaurant was okay and breakfast fine. Although some cheese and jam would have been nice, there was a lot of variety for non-vegetarians let’s say. Btw, I was impressed by the lady who spoke a loooot of languages.

Okay for the night

Great food, cozy atmosphere, owner was friendly while serving the food. Had good humour. We had beef steaks and pizza. Everything was perfect. Resonable price. This resturant is in a house wich is build 1870. 

Magnificent

The place was very nice. The food was very good and the service was even better. Our waitress and I think the owner was so kind. And if you want further advice about the place just call 845-4938 and I can tell you all about the great service

This place was excellent 

Stayed here for a few nights in a motel like building next to the main building.
The room was ok even though it only had one window but it was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately a loud ac vent on a nearby plant made a lot of noise every 30 minutes the whole time. The room had a flat screen TV with many british stations and a hot water kettle with tea and coffee bags.
The food, especially dinner, was very good and the service was fast.

Good food and lodgins

I stayed for three nights whilst in town for business/pleasure. Town was very quiet at this time of year. I stayed in the new section of the hotel which was fine, clean and quite modern. Parking straight out the front.
All in all a good place to stay and I would stay again.
