The hotel emailed us our room number and a door code. We arrive at the hotel at 9 PM. We keep trying the code to the door. It won't work. We tried for about ten minutes. Finally, a who was inside the room who had just gotten out of the shower opens the door from the inside in just a towel. The hotel put us in an unsafe and deeply humiliating situation because they gave us the wrong room number. What makes things worse is that management is refusing to respond when I complain about the situation. Completely ignoring me. Don't stay here. Stay anywhere else. 

Avoid this Unsafe and Unresponsive Hotel 

after days amid nothing entering a town is a little shock of its own
and automatic self checking  it's a facility as long as it works otherwise it's another little problem ones have to solve before get in and relax
our room, clean and spacious was facing the main road of sellfoss (as all the odd) and so noisy till late in the evening
yet the coffee machine is welcomed
simple but comfortable forniture
parking is free just at the entrance and plenty of restaurants in the neightborhood

first room returning in the cities

This was our second stay, having visited first in 2016. It's a small, modern, high quality series of rooms. There are simple furnishings with comfortable beds and linen. The south-facing rooms overlook the main road, yet the room was quiet. The windows are large and let in lots of natural light. The location is great, offering easy access to most of the local amenities. The room was very clean and had fast reliable Wi-Fi (58Mbps down / 25Mbps up / 8ms ping).

In terms of negatives, the towels were pretty small, there was only one pillow per bed and there were no bedside power points.

Overall I'd happily recommend this location, and would stay here again.

Very pleasant place to stay

We booked this place for two nights and did not want to look for another room as it meant moving and wasting time. At the outset, I want to be clear that the staff were very polite and answered our requests right away. The facility was very dirty. The bed sheets and towels did not seem like they were changed from the previous renter. The soap dispensers had no soap in them. The website mentions breakfast. Be clear, that there is NO breakfast whatsoever!

Below average room

The location of this property is just right in the town center. There are many of restaurants around the premises. The parking space is just infront of the building which is very convenient for traveler. 

The room is very nice and clean. You have a small refrigerator in your room. Their is a share kitchen right outside in a living area which is a good idea to separate a noise and smell from a room. To unlock your room, you need a digital key code which is pretty safe and secure. It is a simple apartment, but if you are looking for a very nice and quiet place to stay while you are in Selfoss, this is a place for you.

Nice apartment

My kids and I stayed here 2 night and really liked the place. Check in was easy and the rooms were very nice. There was grocery shopping within walking distance and a shared kitchen to cook dinner. There is also a restaurant onsight if we wanted an easy meal.

Great vacation

Bella Apartments promised us a full credit for the amount of our April 2020 reservation, which we had to postpone due to the COVID pandemic. Fast forward to 2022, and after repeated attempts to contact them to use this credit, which we had evidence of in writing, they conveniently declined to return any of our messages or emails. Very disappointing and unprofessional. They simply ghosted us.

Bella promised a credit, then vanished on us

We stayed here En route from skaftafell to the golden circle for 1 night.
I was a bit worried after reading the reviews as we arrived around 9.30pm quite exhausted and didn’t want to be stuck outside an unserviced apartment.
We were called around 4.30pm by the friendly apartment rep to ask our arrival time and were sent the entry code and instructions via email.
Free Parking was available right outside the apartments.
The entry code worked and we were in!
The apartment was lovely and clean with modern decor and very comfortable bedding, a kettle and mugs for tea/coffee.
The location was fantastic for the golden circle or exploring the east as it was right on the main road.
There were several eating options nearby.
Would definitely recommend, was much cheaper than neighbouring hotels yet did not disappoint!
Selfoss  is a lovely town and great place to spend the night.

Great stay

Had a hard time figuring out where to park at first but that was taken care of quickly. Concierge isn't always staffed but we didn't have too much issues getting in touch with them. The room was beautiful and clean, and pretty spacious as well. Right in the middle of town, but the area is not really walkable, and you probably have a car anyway. Overall no complaints, would stay here again.

Very Nice Rooms, Concierge not always staffed

We booked a room here well in advance so were quite surprised to arrive and find there was no staff on site and the doors were locked! 

There was a sign on the door to say that if no one was present then ring the buzzer. We did and no one answered. We then called the hotel and no one answered! We left a telephone message as a last ditch effort and when again we did not receive a response, we started looking for somewhere else to stay as it was clearly impossible to get inside or to speak to someone. 

Luckily, as we were trying to sort out Plan B another traveller exited the building. We explained the situation to them and they let us inside the hotel. Thanks to this friendly traveller, who also found our key, we managed to get to our room.

After finally being able to get into the building we brought in our luggage, unpacked, and then decided what we would do for the rest of the day. As we were driving out to the tourist attractions it was only then that we received a call from the hotel. This was well OVER AN HOUR after we arrived!! There was no apology. They simply confirmed we had made it to our room. 

We were about to bring up the fact that it was highly unprofessional of them and entirely frustrating for us to be put in this situation when the line cut and the call ended. They did not call back. We later received a message from them via Expedia where they apologied, but given what happened it seemed they were mostly covering their back with Expedia.

After speaking with the other visitor who let us in and found our keys, it turns out our arrival was on a national holiday so many people had taken the day off. This is NO EXCUSE. If you are unable to process new arrivals on a public holiday then you shouldn't take people's bookings.

The room itself was clean and perfectly suitable, but having a locked up hotel and staff who were more interested in enjoying themselves on holiday than assisting travellers made this a poor experience.
