The room was on the small side but it was adequate for our needs, and there was a pleasant shared area where one could sit to read. That area also had a kitchen that guests could use. We paid extra for breakfast. On our second and third mornings, when the hostess wasn’t as busy with cleaning rooms, she made us cooked eggs. The entire property was clean, and the shower in our private bathroom was more spacious than some we’ve seen. It would have been nicer to be able to walk into town; the trade off was to have better mountain views and save a little money. Technically, one could walk into town (~1.2 km), but it’s through a semi-industrial area without sidewalks.

Really 4.5 rating

Simple, clean, welcoming, stunning views.  We brought a picnic dinner and sat in the industrial parking lot facing absolutely stunning water and mountain views with the sun shining at midnight.  A few miles out of town away from the tourists getting off of the ships.

Perfect place  that is out of the way

The bed was super comfortable. There is a shoes off policy.....and the place provided slippers.  I saw lots of families at this hotel.  

 · I wish it was in town.   It was located at the very end of town and didn’t get the vibe for the beautiful area it is in. I offered to pay when I checked in but he said “in the morning” but no one was around when I left so I hope he gets paid. Did turn in the keys.

Quiet secluded area........almost too secluded!

The rooms are unpretentious but very clean and comfortable with the bonus of an en-suite.  The views across the Fjord are absolutely stunning and we wished we could have had better weather and stayed longer to enjoy hiking in the local area.  As it was, we arrived in bitterly cold rain and snow plus we had the ferry to catch the next day.  The Manager was extremely helpful in giving us information about opening times etc for the supermarket, directions etc and even gave us a lift the next morning with all our luggage to the ferry port.  Nice place and friendly service, thanks

Small guesthouse in an industrial setting but with stunning views

I stayed for two nights at this accomodation. For 225,00 EUR for the entire stay it was absolutely overprized. The room was very simply furnished as in a youth hostel. No comfort as television etc. The personnel was trying to charge me an "own" EUR/ISK-exchange rate instead of the official one published on the website of VISA. Pretty impertinent this kind of behaviour.

Besides the personnel is lazy as they do not offer daily room cleaning and you are asked to remove also clean shoes at entrance (impertinent as well). The breakfast is not a breakfast - it's a joke. In front of the guesthouse is it pretty dirty with industrial trash like old boat-parts etc.
I don't recommend this guesthouse  - a pretty ugly place.

Overprized guesthouse with youth hostel standard

Beware of this property.  I stayed here two nights.  For both nights the proprietor charged me an extra 20 euro fee all the while feigning to not understand even basic English sufficient to explain why.  So, I'm standing at the front desk in a hostel in Iceland,  and he's not expressing the room charge in Icelandic Krona or USD, but Euros, so he can charge even more on top of his mystery extra 20.  I later overhead the guy at the desk similarly defraud other guests and play dumb when they likewise questioned him.  Even had this place not engaged in fraud, I wouldn't stay here.  The room was the size of a walk-in closet, the walls are paper thin and the property is all the way out of the charming little town in a very creepy, industrial setting.  Caveat Emptor!!

FRAUD ALERT!!

The inn is basic and it's a long walk, but short drive, to town. The cooking facilities are excellent. We found the staff to be friendly. Our room was large enough for the two of us and waking with a view of the Fjord was a nice extra. All in all, it was comfortable and a reasonable price for a night's stay.

Fjord-side quiet location

Breakfast is very basic. We even had a ham who was not fresh...Location is quite awful. The personnel is insisting / is ordering all the times to remove your shoes...and they are offering 10% of discount for massage if you are native from Iceland...
