You’d be nuts to stay anywhere but here if on the peninsula around Keflavik. I love this place. Very nice rooms and great bathrooms. Not the most picturesque part of the peninsula but stupendous value and access to explore relatively dark areas on the road to Grundavik and Keflavik. I really enjoyed it and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

The best value on the peninsula near the airport for car exploration hunting auroras and wanting a quiet location. Love

My daughter was stuck in Iceland because of bad weather. We booked her into Hotel Vogar. We are very thankful that we did this . Mr. Vogar was very kind and helpful. Picked her up from the airport and  dropped her off after a three day stay of road and airport closure and delays, we are very thankful for his help and kindness.  We will come back and stay with you soon.


Stay

Hotel Vogar is a decent place just like any other hotel in Iceland.They upgraded our 2 rooms to 2 bedroom apartment.The location is close to the airport and is in a neighbourhood so every things is close by.Rooms are clean and spacious exactly how you see in the pictures.Smooth check in and check out.

Great staff and convenient Location

Easy run to Vogar via the road around Hvalfjordur in pleasant weather. Eight and final day of our Ring Road Road Trip.  Checked in early at 1.00 and given Room 1. Functional room with good bathroom and usual plugless basin. Ex cellent blackout curtains.  Appreciated parking right in front of unit.Explored the area but weather began to deteriorate. Found there were no restaurants in Vogar. Owner suggested a place in Grindavik but due to weather we ended up in Njardvik. Convenient location for blue lagoon and the airport for early flights with fuel pumps just 100 meters down the road. Our thanks to the Owner who organised breakfast at 6.00 for us to cater for the early flight next day.

Convenient Location

Our flight had been canceled and rebooked and they payed for our stay here. Wonderfully accommodating, delicious food and helpful and respectful service. Even received a taxi ride courtesy of the front desk to the airport the next day. Highly recommend

Flight Rebooking

A wonderful hotel in a quiet town. The hotel was extremely clean and exactly what I was searching for. Open your windows for fresh air and to hear the birds in the morning.
All of the staff were very friendly, the hotel owner was very informative and helpful. He has a great deal of knowledge if you have questions about your trip to Iceland. He also has a nice shop in the main area, plus a cozy little living room with a TV , and books, where guests can sit for a bit.
This is my first choice when staying in Iceland from now on. It is only a short distance to the capital. Highly recommend staying here especially if you enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.

Cozy and comfortable

3 of us stayed here in October (14-17 Oct-21). We had originally booked 3  single rooms but upgraded them to include private bathrooms.  The rooms were clean and comfortable and at an extra cost the hotel provided a good continental breakfast.

A good comfortable and clean hotel

We spent one night here at the beginning of our Iceland trip. Motel style hotel. The room was basic, clean and met our needs, the beds comfortable, good shower. Our host was friendly and helpful. 
Breakfast was good with lots of choice and served from 7am.

Simple motel close to the airport and blue lagoon

We needed a hotel to stay at while we waited for our test results.  Hotel Vogar is only a few minutes from the airport and they were very nice.  I e-mailed to say we needed to check in early and it was no problem.  Lobby was not open yet when we arrived but they had a key waiting for me!  Comfortable bed and a hot shower, what more do you need!  I would definitely stay here again.

Nice little Hotel

We spent one night here at the end of our Iceland trip.  The room was basic, but very clean and met our needs.  I was pleased with the kitchen available to all guests-had a large fridge available and all the appliances and dishes necessary for cooking. There is also a washing machine available there.   Our host was very friendly and helpful.  She mentioned a good walking route which encouraged me to check out early in the morning.  The town is very quiet and pretty once you get past the houses.  There is not much in the way of restaurants here, but it is a quick drive to Keflavik where we got dinner.
