one of the third class hotel in amritsar.management is not customer oriented.fake charges, third class service,not working a/c.tasteless food.it was my bad decision to stay in this hotel & this hopelss management not even trying to improve their service so do not visit or stay in this hotel

1) Let me warn you that the low-priced rooms are bad. Small in size and with small washrooms you will feel suffocated.

2) One look at our room and we quickly approached the reception desk for an upgrade. They were kind enough to allot us a bigger room on the 2nd floor, with extra charges, ofcourse.

3) The complimentary breakfast is a scandal. In a very dirty, small, cramped Kitchen on the top floor with an equally dirty labourer masquerading as a cook, they served us stupid bread toast with tasteless tea.

4) The only thing that works is the location. So choose a high-priced room and don't opt for complimentary breakfast.

Go only for big budget rooms

I have never stayed at a hotel worst than The Red Hotel. The bedsheets, floor, almirah, bathroom, drinking water everything was extremely dirty and old.
The housekeeping guy brought a torn bedsheet when we asked to change the bedsheet. The almirah was broken. They shouldn't charge more than 50 rupees per day considering the services and room's condition.
Please never ever decide on staying in this hotel.

Worst rooms and room service ever experienced by me

They gave us this time den of a room with only a table fan. Service was hours late no matter what u order.dirty bed sheets, broken bucket, tiny wash basin, staring guys at the counter n room service.once we were sitting with our lunch serverd 2hrs after being ordered, we needed more rotis n they  weren't delivered at all. So we drank our dal simply walked out to  eat outside.money wasted.

Worst hotel ever

The Red Hotel in Amritsar has reasonable rates for a great location and Western toilets. Those are the only positive things I can say about this hotel.

Our party had been quoted a specific rate on booking dot com. When we arrived, the staff attempted to charge us considerably more (asking for a down payment which exceeded the entire quoted price, no less). Later it was explained to us that the discrepancy was due to an 18% local tax for rooms. This of course, was a load of crap, as the local taxation rate is 8% for rooms. Later, when we extended out stay by one night, the manager attempted to increase our rate. There are very ethically questionable business practices in place at the Red Hotel of Amritsar.

After spending some time in the room, it was clear why management required a down payment: guests doubtless found somewhere else to stay after spending a night here. Almost none of the amenities listed for the hotel lived up to expectations.

For one thing, the wifi at the Red Hotel was practically useless. Bandwidth had been exceeded at most points, and I generally found it easier and faster to use my personal phone to access the local 2G network.

The hot water was non-existent in either room rented by our party. The light on the water tank would go on, and the tank made noises that would seem to indicate that hot water was forthcoming. However, it was all a cruel joke. Every shower was a chilling penance, and its end a welcome respite. Additionally, my room did not have a raised lip leading into the main room. The shower head was directly across from the door, so I was forced to build a levee of towels in order to prevent daily flooding.

The bed was dirty here. Not that this is a unique feature amongst budget hotels in India, but things were ESPECIALLY grody. Plenty of brown grease spots and dark curly hairs were to be found upon inspection of the bedding. 

The bathroom was of poor design.  While any western-style toilet is a blessing in an Indian hotel room, more thought should have been given to the placement of fixtures in the room. The sink was placed exactly where one's head should be when using a toilet. I was forced to turn my head uncomfortably to the side each time I had a bowel movement. Since I just happened to be in the throes of painful and urgent diarrhea while in Amritsar, this feature made the experience all the more unpleasant.

Interestingly, the hotel couldn't find a key for my room. Staff suggested that I just leave it unlocked. I was of course, appalled. It turned out that it didn't matter whether or not I was able to lock the door. I tried my brother's key, and it worked in my lock as well. Presumably all locks in the hotel will yield to this same key, enabling any enterprising guest to pillage your belongings while you are out.

Finally, the restaurant left much to be desired. Located on the roof, it consisted of one crappy-looking table with an admittedly nice view of the city. Service was terrible, and when we were finally waited on, we were told that most of the choices on the menu were not available. I ended up dining on my fifth choice from the menu, and ate elsewhere for the duration of my stay.

I would never utilize this institution again, and would never recommend it to anyone that I did not dislike. I'm sure that you can find a better place to stay in the otherwise charming and intriguing city of Amritsar.
