We stayed there for a night during our south India tour in Dec’20
The resort as its name is on the middle of a hill and has a wonderful view of the hills in front. The property has very traditional looks. The reception was small and just beside it, is a small restaurant. It’s a small property at a very quiet and beautiful place. 
There was much space for car parking in the front and a small garden in the backyard. It is very good place for enjoying summer holidays. Also it was ideal place to stay and work during the lockdown period. The location is very good, near to the railway and bus station with proximity to the town. 
 The resort was operating with minimal staff. We had ordered snacks in the evening and it was delicious. Although the options were limited, the food was nice. It was served hot in the in the restaurant along with the hot water.
 The room and the furniture inside were traditional. It seemed to be very old made up of solid wood like teak wood. It needed some maintenance though. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was large geyser for a room which gave nice hot water. Some appliances needed maintenance.
Cleanliness and sanitation was well maintained though it had some room for improvement.
Overall it was a nice place at an affordable price.

Great Place for vacation, budget stay

Top notch service is what remained on our minds weeks after our stay here. No requests were denied and were well accommodated, including early check-in and an advance arrangement for a birthday cake. Rooms were decently furnished although the building had seen many decades. 

Meals at the restaurant were made to order and were decently priced, which was a surprise given the premiums generally charged by hotels in popular hill station destinations. 

The hotel is also located at a reasonable distance from Coonoor tourist attractions and a very short distance from the railway station. 

Recommended for a short weekend hill station getaway while avoiding the crowds in Ooty.

Pleasant family getaway

Overall it is a very good stay. One of the very good budget resort at Coonoor. I stayed in Suite room. Following are the pros and cons in my view.

Pros:
1) Just 500 meters away from Coonoor railway station or Coonoor City. Still very isolate place and view from room is good.
2) Rooms are net and Clean. Housekeeping guys are doing excellent work.
3) Food is really good and decent price.

Cons:
1) Though it is on Ooty-Coonoor main road, but approach road 10 meters is in horrible condition.
2) Sometimes room service or reception number will not work after evening. You need to go down for anything.

Stay 3 nights at MGM Hill Worth Resort, Coonoor

We have visited this hotel on 2nd January for 3 days to enjoy the Scenic beauty of Coonoor. The hotel location is great. The rooms are large but old styled. Food is basic  including break fast though there is an attempt by the hotel staff to offer good service to the guests. For a couple of days stay with friends and family, the hotel is ok.

Great location Resort

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff are very polite and helpful. Good food and nice catering staff. Lovely atmosphere. Spacious and clean rooms with good view. Cool pleasant environment. Very good Hotel. All required assistance is provided by the hotel.

Lovely Stay at MGM Hill Worth Resorts

The hotel is laidback and moderately comfortable. Our room was huge with colonial style fittings and furniture. The room was reasonably clean, but the kettle they provided was filthy. You have to wait for the water to be hot, which can be a bit of problem when its colder. 

The breakfast is not that great, with very limited options..and cold, congealed options meet the eye.

Quiet, old and comfortable hotel

Stayed with my partner for 2 nights having transferred from their sister hotel in Chennai. Staff and manager were so helpful giving us an early check in after our long bus trip, good advice on what to see during our short stay and help to organise that. We needed to arrange transport back to Chennai and again that was all done for us, it felt as though nothing was too much trouble. Our room was basic but had a great view over the valley and was clean and comfortable. Unlike other reviews I've read we weren't over impressed by the restaurant as a lot of the menu options weren't available and do choice was limited. That said service was good. All in all an enjoyable stay in a pleasant hotel. Staff and location being the high points. 

Great location and lovely staff

Dirty linen, no hot water in the morning hours, cockroach in the room. Though staff's try to do their best within the limitations but seems to be helpless. Food is good. They can do better if attend to above mentioned concerns

Average resort with good Hospitality

The hotel looks traditional in its rooms and I have a mixed review.

I went solo and somehow felt the hotel staff was not really used to solo women travelling and staying in their premises.

Yet I am glad for a number of reasons, they gave me early check in, they gave a good room and after mentioning my concerns, they seemed less intrusive.

The plus point is that the hotel is close to Coonoor railway station, in fact walkable from hotel to the station and is also close to bus stand. Also they have an auto driver who is also the security guard and though he does take his passengers, yet he seemed a bit greedy and non committed. He almost left me stranded after I had been to a tea tasting experience.

Overall 3 out of 5 and some serious work needs to be done by management including manager who make you feel, you are the only one travelling solo, so they are over intrusive. Maybe a good location for families, as they seem to bother them less.

The buffet was good, not exhaustive and food is good too. The hotel is government owned and still they have a long way to go in providing good hospitality. Yet, as I mentioned it is a good place for families or groups.

Special mention to one Mr. Anthony ( hoping I am not wrong on the name) who ensured mist of my queries and concerns were addressed.

Mixed feeling on this hotel

Ravi,the  Manager , was very Receptive. He made our stay very Comfortable by allotting the Right type of Rooms for our family. He Guided us so well for our Sight Seeing Visits.  A Pleasant Surprise that  He Personally Escorted us to a certain point to ensure the Right Route.
The Other Staff , Lakshman took care , by getting the Food Prepared to Our Taste by the Che Prabhu. The Taste, Higene  and Serving was great.
Mani also rendered a Good Service when we got late due to rain on the date of our Arrival.
Housekeeping staff and Security were also very Courteous.
Overall - A Very Memorable Stay at MGM. We are planning for a Second Trip at our earliest convenience.

Stayed at MGM from 29.04.19 to 2.05.19. A Property in a Serene Location  , Receptive Staff, Very Good Homely Foodd.
