It is not a hotel, it is a hostel where you would be threatened that if you don’t comeback by 10 pm, we will shut the main entrance. 

If you face water shortage issue in morning, the person at reception will tell you that we understand it’s an issue but we can’t do anything about it you will have to manage by yourself. 

This is the “worst hotel service” I have experienced in my entire life. Where the person at reception lack basic manners when it comes to speaking with guests at hotel. 

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Darjeeling is full of hotels these days but we recommend Yang's Inn as it is fairly central, rooms are pleasant with hot water in the bathroom, the breakfasts overlooking the Himalayas are great, staff are helpful, there is a lovely big friendly dog behind the reception desk (I called him Bran but he has a Nepali name too), and beds are warm and comfy.

I travel multiple times per year to Darjeeling and have always viewed Yang's Inn as a good place to recommend for mid-range value. Unfortunately, I can no longer make such a  recommendation. 

The owner of the building has recently taken over the actual management and has decided to prioritize short-term profits over hospitality and service. For a specific illustration of this, I booked several rooms with breakfast. First, upon arrival, they attempted to change the price from what had been previously negotiated. Second, they did not provide a complimentary breakfast, rather (over) charging us for the mediocre breakfast provided. The hotel's rationale for this was that "we ate breakfast on the patio" even though the hotel specifically instructed us to eat there and because we "ate more than toast."  

This illustrative of a general attitude towards guests where they should be nickeled and dimed. Ultimately, I left feeling taken advantage of and disappointed that my repeat business was not valued. 

On a positive note, the rooms on the top floor have been renovated and are a good mid-range option. If you do choose to stay here, I would make sure to request one of these rooms. I would also make sure to have everything explicitly agreed upon before staying here.

Disappointing service and hospitality.

Our stay in Yang's Inn hotel was great. The hotel staff are very friendly and their response was very helpful and fast. Food is great and yummy. The breakfast was very tasty. The view from the hotel was superb.

Superb hotel and friendly staff.

The hotel is situated near the TV Tower. We drove into Darjeeling in a MPV but were informed that we cannot drive upto the hotel in a MPV as the road leading to the hotel was steep. We had to hire two small cars from the Darjeeling station to reach the hotel. Though the hotel is located just 10-15 minutes from the commercial area like the Mall Market, Chowk Bazaar and Nehru Road, the road leading to these places is steep and narrow. However one can stroll down to these places.

The rooms were spacious and had a balcony overseeing the picturesque Darjeeling valley. We could even catch a glimpse of the snow clad  Mt. Kanchenjunga from here. The hotel provides free WiFi and complimentary breakfast. The breakfast comprised of Poha, bread butter/jam, tea/coffee. Breakfast is served from 8 am to 10.30 am. Dinner is served from 6 pm to 9 pm. There is no room service except for tea/coffee. The front desk provides assistance for transport arrangements. The WiFi connection was good. However, the place requires a makeover.

The owner, Mr. Lama was very helpful and attentive to the guest needs. 

Overall we had an OK stay.

Good hospitality...but the place requires a makeover.

My friend and I had checked into the AKD Hotel, which is a part of Yang's Inn, via Oyo. We had booked ourselves a room for 4 days (20th May, 2018 - 24th May, 2018). The room was very spacious, the linen was clean, a clean washroom and an adjoining balcony with a splendid view. The geyser, the television and the wifi were all in order and worked very efficiently. The hotel staff were always eager to help in whatever way they could. The room also had a big almirah, large enough for 2-3 people. We got complimentary breakfast, which consisted of a buffet of parathas, subzi, halwa, bread, butter and jam, along with tea. Our stay throughout the four days was extremely pleasant. The only downside of the place is that it is somewhat far from the center of the town, and the road to the hotel is uphill. One thing which i feel they can improve upon is the clearing of the dustbin of the rooms. I think they can clear it up on a daily basis, which wasn't done and the trash we had piled up over the four days. However, that's a minor issue and all other things are only positives from my side. Very reasonable and lovely rooms.

For a budget traveler, Bang On !!

Stayed at AKD hotel which was a part of this hotel. Staffs were same for both these hotels. Only good part of the stay was rooms were spacious and clean. Otherwise the breakfast quality was poor and completely mismanaged. The staffs are rude and unprofessional They'll steal your money from your food as well. Completely rubbish kind of hotel. Even they'll not provide the bill of your payment.
