The hotel is one of a property that is horribly and painfully filthy. The room and bathrooms were so ill maintained. Guys don't dare book this hotel or else you would regret why was I born. It's that horrible. These guys don't know what hospitality industry is like. But my advice would be to strictly see all the room yourself and also the bathroom, don't go by the pictures online..or else you would want to spend all day outside.....its that horrible.My plan was to stay for two days but the hotel gave me nightmares and hence had to cut short my stay. Always see for yourself ...always!!!

It was cold in the winter, so the room was very cold. The heaters don't give out, under the blankets you can sleep, only the nose freezes. In the rest of the complaints there are almost no complaints. The sheets with the stains were replaced on the first request. The staff is generally polite and adequate. All problems are solved quickly, not boring, English is good. The rooms are clean, without fanaticism, but clean. The terrace is their special pride. The location is convenient. Everything is within easy reach. It makes the hearing of the neighboring rooms worse. The walls are thin, it is impossible to sleep until the neighbors are pleased. If you have to visit Dardling again, I think you should stop there.

Excellent value for money.

The hotel is located in the upper region of Darjeeling, hiking up with backpacks is exhausting. But you get rewarded with excellent views of the valleys and mountains of Sikkim.
The rooms need definitely some refurbishing. Rooms to the east are the better choice regrading a spectacular sunrise view.

Nice view, but renovation necessary

I've have been there on the month of November 2016 for 5 days with my family. It was a wonderful experience while staying in Hotel New Galaxy. They are not so professional and it is also a plus point for many people like me who wants to stay in a home like place while on vacation . The sunrise can be seen while siting in bed as this hotel is situated on the verge of a hill. Views from the terrace is excellent. You can do sight-seen with them which I've opted and the cost is very reasonable. They are like brothers and always ready to help their customers for anything. A Thai food restaurant is also there.I highly recommend staying at Hotel New Galaxy,  for enjoying Holidays in Darjeeling.

Good hotel with decent management !

Stayed here for 3 days I found the room OK TV worked fine hot showers and good WiFi the location is good not far from all the good restaurants etc didn't eat here but they have a restaurant the owner was nice and friendly too

Mould on the walls, dirty bathroom, no warm water. According to the description, the view of the mountains, but only the courtyard and old-fashioned metal was visible. Not even for one night to recommend. For this room even the cheap price is still too much.

It's awful.

The hotel has a great location with excellent views from the terrasse in the upper part and from some of the lower rooms. The hotel is also located close to the market place and some good resturants. We stayed here for 3 nights before going trekking and 1 night when we came back. The rooms are ok size but both the room and the bathroom are not very clean.
