Vacation

My parents and I visited Gangtok during the last week of June, 2019 and we decided to stay at the Mazong Hotel. We have been very pleased with the hotel, the rooms and the general environment. The hotel premises are clean and lush green and very well maintained, with gardens and flowers all around. The hotel is situated very close to the MG Road and Vajra Taxi Stand, so when one wants to book a car for out-of-gangtok sightseeing, one needs to take a very short walk to the Vajra Taxi Stand from where one can book the car. The hotel room was very neat and spic and span, with clean towels, bedspreads and toiletries provided to us. The hotel rooms gave a serene and pristine vibe. The hotel is so beautifully situated that during monsoon evenings, clouds would get in through open window, which would enhance the surreal feel of the place. There is also a little library within the hotel, which houses a tasteful collection of English fiction novels. The caretaker of the hotel, Mr. Raj was friendly and most professional, providing us with prompt service. He would cook dinner for us which was clean, safe and hygienic. The owner of the property, Mr. Longsel Tenzing showed utmost courtesy by assisting us with planning the sightseeing and ensuring that we had a good time. 

We are so happy and indebted to the entire management team of the Mazong Hotel for showing us a great time and providing us with the best instance of the famous Sikkimese hospitality. We would love to come back and stay at the Mazong once again.

Best Hotel in Gangtok: Serene and Tranquil

Rooms are great with garden and lawn at the property. Quiet place to stay. people who loves to be in crowd will rate this property low. Good place to be with self. Longsel the owner is very nice and very interactive. The food here is served hot and is pure organic. they have new staffs like cook and steward who are very friendly.

Best place far from hustle and bustle of the busy town.

This is I can say one of the saddest experience of our Sikkim Tour. Most unfriendly staff who are ready to do a fist fight with the guests. There are stray dogs roaming just outside the rooms. If you don't like dogs outside your room then you must not be here. The staff here was so rude and manner less that they threatened us for fist fight when we complained them of unhygienic & dirty kitchen. They created a full scene and it was settled only after we told them of calling the police.

The Mazong  Hotel is situated in such a location that it provides tranquility to the traveller. The best thing about Mazong is the Hospitability,service,food and the garden which is laden with flowers all year round.The rooms are comfortable and clean.The owner Mr.Longsel is  very helpful and is always ready to provide any info or help if required.The place is a reasonable distance from all the major tourist destination and generally is a budget hotel.

Decent Hotel

We booked our stay in this property reading all the wonderful reviews and the facilities promised on the website. We were in for an unexpected experience!!

From Bhutan we landed here with a bagload of soiled clothes. We were told there's no washer and drier. The website says there is and that was one of the reasons we chose this place. They handwashed the clothes. Not a great job done. Due to rains clothes didn't dry and after 4 days some clothes had to be stashed wet! Longsel the property owner was helpful about planning the places to visit. Raj the property manager tries to be as helpful as possible but he has his limitations. There's no WiFi. Electricity is erratic and there's no back up generator. The property is good but not well maintained. There are three dogs on the property who play under the table while you have breakfast. While some may think this cute, not exactly my kind of fun!!  The place is a steep slope down from the main road which means it's a steep climb up everytime you want to go out. Its about two km from MG Road which means INR 150-200 one way trip everytime you want to go out. Entrance has no light. All in all I would definitely give it a miss for my next trip to Gangtok.
