What was good

A picture perfect hotel. Our room was perfect in every detail from the grand double doors, locked with a big brass padlock, to the small lounge area and marble bathroom. Breakfast was extensive and included eggs, Indian choices, fruits and cereals. Excellent porridge! The grounds are pretty, and the pool is an oasis of calm, watched over by chipmunks and on one occasion, a monkey. All the staff are attentive, and the piper accompanies your arrival and departure. However, it is Stella, the French Bulldog who steals the show!

What was bad

No obvious local restaurants, so we ended up eating in the hotel each evening. This was not such a hardship, as the hotel is lovely, and the food was good, but the menu was a little limited.
