When I arrived the worst thing happened,my hotel reservation was cancelled automatically. The locals in Katra are so helpfull they helped me searching for a hotel. Finally I checked myself in at Gordon House, the reception desk Rajesh n rest of the people are so polite. They asked me to freshen up and have darshan. They arranged vehicle too as it was my first visit to Katra. The driver bhaiya i didn't asked his name was so genuine and humble. He informed everything about place, morever it was 340am in d morning i called from std n he was there to pick me up. The rooms are so cleaned, washrooms are well groomed,Tasty food i love that khichdi. This hotel got massage spot, swimming pool n beautiful swing beside pool. Afterwards i went for shopping n Kali Mandir darshan it was fatadtic. Wheever i m going Vaishno devi next i will stay always there. Thank you so much. I am sorry i got charger in my bag i realised when i came delhi.

Fantastic and memorable trip

Hotel is on good location. In my time wifi is not working, only that is the issue for me but hotel staff is very helpful, one staff opened their hotspot and I used internet for sometime. Hotel is on budget. I got big, cleaned and good room. View from my room is also awesome. On goggle map, the path for hotel show long from bus stand but it's near. And city market is also near from this hotel

Budget hotel and on good location

Really good management and also excellent hospitality tasty foods roomes are neat and clean beds are comfortable sofas are available in rooms every thing was  outsanding especially general manager sushma verma really a good manager 

 Well maintained 

The overall experience was best and especially the service and hospitality of the staff. The manager Sushma Verma is very humble and one of the nicest persons i have ever met. I would like to stay for some more time there. 

Extraordinary  dwelling place

If you're staying​ in this hotel for your professional or personal work you will never be disappointed. The rooms are very clean with all basic amenities. The service is real quick. Overall a best hotel to stay.


Best experience and great service.

We have stayed in Gordon House for two days. Helpful and cheerful staff and testy food is the best I liked about this hotel. They have free van service to helipad and SMVDSB office. Free WiFi is available in lobby area which is very useful as prepaid mobiles does not work in J&K. The only downside is toilets which needs some renovation.

Good budget hotel.

Review: we were given the rooms on the floor which was under renovation. There was a strong smell of paint. As most of my family members are allergic to that smell, they all were down with sneezing. Hotel staff tried to compensate this by giving us super deluxe room but the condition was same in all the rooms on that floor.
Hot water was only available after repeated request. Many a times we even had to take shower with cold water.
Hotel WiFi was not working during the entire duration of our stay.
Though at the time of booking free breakfast was offered but inspite of informing them 1 hour in advance hotel didn't provide us breakfast on the second day and we had to go out to eat.
Cleaning was very poor. Before going out of the morning we handed over the keys to hotel staff and instructed them to clean the room and  change bed sheets but they simply chose to ignore. When we returned in the evening, rooms were in the same condition as we left in the morning. We again had to request for room cleaning and change of bed sheets. Which they did at 10 o'clock in the night. we all were tired with the whole day of travelling and had to wait for them to finish with cleaning so that we all can rest.
In future I would think twice before doing any booking they goibibo. Didn't know that they had partnered with any hotels without checking how the hotel is being managed.
