Stayed here for a couple of days while in Auroville for the marathon.  The location obviously, as mentioned by others, is beautiful, serene and peaceful. Far from the city noises, this is truly a place to relax. The front office assistant, Anita, was quite helpful in getting us settled. The room we had was basic but with a kitchen. The WIFI though was surprisingly good. No good mobile service(except vodafone) and no TV, which were very welcome. We had a nice stay here and would like to come back again

Peaceful stay

This happened to be the second time I stayed here.The rooms are spacious, neat and clean. Rates are reasonable. If you plan your visit ahead, you could attend the workshops held at Earth Institute which is bang opposite it. And also have a look at CSR,where they show you how waste water is recycled.
Breakfast wasn't ready as we had informed them as their cook wasn't available.
There a couple of small cafes nearby though.
The phone signals are very weak inside the room.

Had booked (50% paid-up) the place through Booking.com.
When we reached, we realised that our booking was for a non-a/c room - which was not specified anywhere either at the time of booking, nor on the confirmation.
The lady at the reception, Anita - tried to help us out, but her boss, Anatoly - was not much help at all.
Eventually, got ourselves an a/c room by paying a higher rate.
The room was average.
Lots of bugs, lizards and frogs around the place. a couple of peacocks visit in the evening. We heard that there were snakes and scorpions regularly spotted around the property. Ofcourse, that is not too surprising given the lush green surroundings.
There is no trace of a food-providing kitchen. Only coffee was provided to us after some coaxing. (Although the sign board says Italian cuisine - don't be fooled - what they mean is that they know of a pizza place, which will deliver.)
The location is very good, most places are easily accessible from here. Also, two-wheelers can be hired from across the road - so that is very convenient.

Average place in a Great surrounding

I visited for a day, during the lean period i.e. June, 2018. 

Pros: 
- Spacious room;
- Clean and dry bathroom;
- Hot water available
- Air Conditioner worked
- Away from the noisy world
- Expect to sight a beautiful Peacock or two

Cons:
- The bed sheets weren't fresh, 
-  The wi-fi didn't work. And when I informed the manager (Mr.Anatolii), about the same the next day, he said - "You are anyway leaving now". 
- The corridor was pitch dark at light, none of the lights worked, except for in one stair 
case.  
- Prepare to deal with the Peacocks loud scream through the night. 
- No tea bags, coffee powder, milk powder in the Kitchenette.
- The staff invariably suggest you eat at a cafe outside, as food is made to order - or at least this was the case when the number of guests were very less.

Average Service and Indifferent Attitude towards Customers

Owner really unpolite, despite is one of the most expencive place in auroville it looks the owner is making you a favour and whenbyou pay he looks at you like you are lucky to be arrived there. The place then is not worthy the price that should be definitively cheaper. No receipt, no aurocard accepted payment trought credit card

I call it an ashram inside an ashram. I mean, the apartments are set in a gated area and monitored day and night by a guard. The staff is good and prepared for every situation and they have great patience and availability to everyone. The rooms are spacious and bright, there was a terrace overlooking the forest that was big, clean and delicious. One thing: the bed was very hard, resting on a rigid wooden axis. But for the rest it's the best you could wish for in India.

Great and welcoming.

Welcome, good organization, simplicity of the fairly large studios, well set up to live comfortably for several days for two to four people.
