The cleaning of our room was very poor.  The Wi-Fi did not work. The hot water was unreliable. We asked for a quiet room and were disturbed by an alarm that went off regularly from a freight elevator.  Our refrigerator did not work and they said they would replace it.  They never did.  We were there 3 days.  Breakfast was only passable. 

The lobby is nice, but beyond that it was a disappointment! Run , don’t walk away!

A Major Disappointment

Was there for 3 days. Prime location for shopping. Had hot water for showers, free breakfast with variety of foods. Not a boring place. Clubs, restaurants and shops were plenty. People working at the hotels were friendly.

Best hotel for shoppers!

We stayed here for 4 nights. Hotel is right next to New Market. Rooms are big and sofa can be used as bed for kids. Breakfast was provided in room and quality / quantity was good. Limited parking spaces are available. There is a restro-bar called Sunset in the same campus. Had a good experience.

Good hotel near New Market

I have often stayed in the hotel for official and business trip. The hotel is near the commercial hub of Kolkata and easily accessible to new markets.  The breakfast was nothing write about considering covid and they are serving in make shift area. But still good for budget staying in main commercial area 

Budget hotel in park street area

Pleasant stay and right on Sudder St. 
Close to the Indian Museum and New Market. The breakfast options are adequate and healthy. Staff are all very helpful and a accommodating.
A great place to base yourself in this bustling glorious city.

Sudder Style

We had a very unpleasant experience in this hotel where we stayed for three nights. The bar on the ground floor announced a closing time at 10.30pm. Unfortunately, this is not correct and we had to endure noise disturbances until late at night. When I complained to the reception desk, I was told that the bar actually only closed at 1.30am. To this we have to add the lack of hot water in the bathroom. We were supposed to wait 15 minutes to see the hot water arrive. The refrigerator available in the room did not encourage to store any food in it.

Very bad experience

I stayed at Lytton hotel for 3 nights The hotel is in the center of Kolkata and streets around are full of restaurants and shops. The room was comfortable and quite big, but the bathroom was not very clean and sanitary tubes were rusty and dripping. Breakfast was rich of Indian dishes but poor of international food.

Rather dark old-style furnishings, air conditioning that is all or nothing, so either full blast and freezing or warm, damp and fusty. The lavatory poured water onto the floor every time it was flushed - the plumber came every time I complained and put some more gunk onto the pipe but it did not stop the torrent.
The worst part of this hotel is the absolutely deafeningly noisy nightclub situated on the ground floor. It has neon flashing lights as well as such loud "music" thumping away that the floor in the restaurant was shaking and vibrating and it was impossible to eat in the restaurant during the hours of operation of the nightclub, as you could not sustain a conversation. I complained more than once and was simply told that it would stop at 2330!! What made it worse was that this was the only place you could get a drink as they do not serve alcohol in the restaurant, or you had to order room service.

Traditional style hotel close to the India Museum

Very disappointed with the employees and the owner. They refused to let a poor man eat at our table even though we wanted to pay for his meal. We are a group of 20 Canadians on a humanitarian trip and discrimination is not part of our values. We will never come back!

its a shame

Stayed there for 2 nights. I have been visiting kolkata for so long. Hotel is located at very happening area. Lots of restaurants, street food cart available nearby. 2 minutes walk to new market. Hotel is old but well maintained. Breakfast is not great but ok.
