We returned again to this lovely homestay our 4th visit and a wonderful welcome from Murugan the owner. The rooms are clean and comfortable and all have a nice balcony overlooking the pool.  They all have a fridge and a kettle and some have A/C. There are sunbeds around the pool and the pool is very clean. Whilst the homestay is about 12 minutes by Tuc Tuc from Kovalam beach it suits us as the surrounds are so beautiful and we love going out on walks and talking to the locals. Breakfast is good with fresh fruit, omelettes and toast. It is possible to arrange for a meal at lunchtime or early evening and these meals have been excellent and very reasonably priced.
The guest house has its own doctor and they offer massages and treatments. I tried a massage and hot stone massage and they are very reasonably priced.
We love this homestay and we will be returning again as it is such a relaxing place to unwind after travelling around India.

Lovely homestay

This place is a must if you are looking for a quiet hotel, with brilliant reasonably priced Ayurvedic treatment, but a short ride away from the main resort.
We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights. The rooms on the first floor have brilliant lake views, but those on the ground floor really just look out over the pool with a wall restricting the view to the lake. The rooms are what you would expect for this priced range hotel in India.
We had a five day Ayurvedic treatment plan which cost us approximately £150. It was brilliant value for money. So much so I am planning on going back for a whole month’s treatment.
This place is a gem. Staff are great, and the location just perfect.

Great Ayurvedic treatment

What an absolute gem ! This was my first solo trip and I decided to return to Kovalam having last been there 16 yrs ago. I wanted to find somewhere away from the hustle of the town but close by. This homestay was absolutely perfect. My room was spacious and the bed lovely and comfy. I had a good sized fridge, kettle, fan and very efficient air conditioning.  My balcony was very private with a stunning view of the lake.....I spent many hours watching a huge array of birds, wildlife and local fishermen.....the early morning walks round the lake were beautiful and peaceful.  
The pool was very well maintained and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts were delicious and varied. And Kovalam just a short tuk tuk ride away.
So apart from staying in such a beautiful place no review would be complete without thanking my wonderful host Muragan and his team. Nothing was too much trouble for him and always with a smile. Sooraj was a delight and safely took me into town each evening and brought me safely back and Soomara not only kept everywhere spotless but also cooked some amazing food. I also indulged in the excellent massages available 
I will definitely return ..

An absolutely beautiful hidden gem

I had an amazing month in this guest house. The location is perfect for someone who wants to escape the business of Kovalam. However, it is just a 15 Minute TuKTuk drive to reach the beach! 

Located in very quite area  next to a beautiful lake, this place is perfect to relax! 

Beside that…

- An amazing, very well maintained pool
- delicious food
- super clean 
-  very well managed

Amazing guest house in Kovalam

The warm, hospitable and most helpful owner of his lovely home stay, Murugan, welcomed me upon my arrival after 36 hours of travelling. First time back to India after seven years….I had an amazing time, delicious ayurvedic meals, excellent ayurvedic treatments and above all, the always pleasant and thoughtful attention offered by Murugan at this beautiful home stay with its lovely swimming pool, beautiful garden and great roof terrace, situated at the pretty Vellayani Lake. 

Warm and heartwarming home stay

I highly recommend Ganesh Ayurveda Holiday Home in Kovalam. The room was large and comfortable, with a fridge, kettle and water provided, and the views from my room patio were spectacular, onto the pool and garden, and beyond to the lake and wetlands. It was so relaxing to sit there and read or watch the many birds flying by. The early morning walk along the lake was another highlight of my stay.

The team truly went out of their way to make my stay special and I’d like to thank them all again for their generosity. In particular Dr Renjith took excellent care of me, recommending the best Ayurvedic treatment and medicine to heal my chest infection. The masseuse, Kala, is highly skilled and very sweet, and the cook, Omana, makes delicious Ayurvedic meals. Amruta, who takes care of the grounds, goes above and beyond, and finally the owner Murugan goes out of his way to make guests feel welcome.

I look forward to staying longer next time, hopefully for a Panchakarma treatment.

When I leave on 28th March, I will have had 25 glorious nights here at Ganesh Ayurveda Holiday Home.  My every need has been  taken care of and I have been nurtured through the wonderful treatments to now feel totally relaxed.  Beautiful, clean environment and delicious food.  If you are looking for all this plus peace and tranquility, this is the place, I will be back, thank you so much ❤️

Perfect Retreat ❤️

A home stay that becomes your home away from home. Murugan and his entire team are inviting, hospital and kind . If you are looking for a landing spot, rather it be 1 night or a few months, this is a gem of a find. The calmness, privacy, natural beauty, the people convenience to all things Kovalam .  If you stay make sure to experience the treatments they have to offer.  They work professionally and it’s simply magic (herbal body Ayurveda massages) , the group of people are some of the best I have come across. Thank you to the Ganish for a wonderful stay. 

A Must Stay

A fantastic place for relaxation and peace.  Murugan and staff do everything they can to ensure you have a great stay. Tap water is drinkable which is a great bonus, the pool is sublime. A great spot right next to velleyani lake, home to kingfishers, cormorants, eagles and many other species.  A must stay place

A bit of affordable paradise

We regret we didnt have more time at Ganesh Aurveda Holiday Home. Together with my friend we spent there 3 days and we both think we couldnt have chosen a better place for our Ayurvedic experience! Food was amazing (we were there having breakfast, lunch and dinner every day), whatever we needed - driver, additional foods, or any kind of advice - Murugan was always there to help. He is a great host, he was always making sure we are 100% satisfied. Rooms were clean and comfy, and the Ayurvedic treatments (followed by special consultation with dr. Sivaprasad) were extremely relaxing. Our stay at Ganesh was a real treat for the body and soul. The hospitality of Murugan and all other employees of Ganesh HH was outstanding, we highly recommend the stay there!
