I've never written a review in my entire life but the fact that I'm writing this says a lot about the kind of experience we had as family (in a good way). This is one of the best properties we've visited in a long time. Starting from the beautiful location, a humble setting and the most caring hosts. We loved the authentic experience, a really well cooked, organic and homely food (special mention to auntie's siddu), and the endless stories shared by uncle - Mr. Sharma. 
In this capitalist world, it's difficult to find people who actually care about customer experience from the bottom of their hearts. It turned out to be that 'one in a million' situation here. The entire Sharma family is deeply careful to provide the best experience and go beyond their comfort level while having a personal connect with their guests. 
We will surely visit the property next time.

Core Memory of Fagu

Beautiful place as well as hospitality. Thanks a lot Suresh ji and family. It was a wonderful experience. Wud like visit again for sure. Amazing view, nice rooms, excellent food and apple orchad made our vacation fulfilling. Nearby locations like narkanda, president house, shimla etc were amazing.

Best vacations at best place

Me with my Family including childern stayed at Northmoon Homestay in Fagu, We were welcomed by Mr. Sharma, Mrs. Sharma and Hrithik Ji. The homestay is located at the middle of Apple Orchads, Pine Trees and Full 360 degrees view of Himalayas.
The Rooms are very Spacious, Clean and well decorated with wooden furniture. Just sit in the balcony with a Cup of Tea and enjoy the Views of Apple Orchards, Mountains and Small Trails here and there. Dashu the caretakes is  only a phone call away and always there to help you with anything.
The Host Sharma Ji and his family were very nice and take care of each one of us as family. This homestay is like Home away from Home. 
The Home Cooked Food prepared by Aunty Ji is very tasty. All the ingredients were there own grown, so the taste was very Raw and Mouth watering.
At Northmoon Homestay, one can find Peace with Nature, as all around you is greenery, mountains, silence. Witnessing morning sunrise at 5:30 am is our daily routine here and after that we went for a walk in the small small trail.
If you want to connect and spend some time with Nature and with yourself, do spend some time at Northmoon Homestay.

Home away from Home

Amazing stay amid serene hills and valleys of Fagu. Property owner was warm and welcoming. Tree House in the neighborhood was bonus. Food was really delicious thanks to sharma Aunty to provide homely atmosphere. Dining area was spacious. All in all wonderful experience. Must visit and recommended place for all families.

My recent stay at North moon homestay was a wonderful experience. The place was beautiful and very welcoming.
The best part was how the owners took care of everything. They were really friendly and made sure we were happy and comfortable. They looked after every little detail and made us feel at home.
The rooms were very clean and decorated nicely. The food was amazing and gave us a real taste of Indian cooking.
The owners were great at making sure we enjoyed our stay. They helped us with planning trips and told us a lot about the local area. We even had great chats over tea.
This homestay is more than just a place to sleep. It’s a place where you feel looked after and make great memories. I would tell anyone looking for a real Indian experience to stay here.

Great peaceful stay

This June I had my third or fourth stay at North Moon. I have been coming back to this place for a few years now, from the time when it was perhaps the only home stay in this area and there was no metalled road. Now the road is metalled and many more home stays have come up, which has changed the look of the place a bit. But thankfully North Moon is still pretty much the same. Great hosts, beautiful view of the mountains, cherry tree in the yard and apple trees all around. Oh and the food is just incredible as it was the first day I had come here years ago. Look forward to dropping by again. 

My third stay at NorthMoon

Visited this place in the third week of June. Had a comfortable stay. The views were beautiful. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The food was also very good. They have a menu from which we can choose what we want to eat. This is a good place if you want to stay a little away from the crowded Shimla and enjoy the serenity of the mighty Himalayas.

A comfortable stay in a beautiful setting

I stayed at Northmoon homestay for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The setting is incredible, with breath-taking views of Himalayan mountains, pine forests & apple orchards all around. Sureshji and his family made me feel like a member of their family. I enjoyed my meals in their cozy traditional family dinning hall and relished the lip-smacking himachali food that they served me along with their home made ghee from their own desi pahadi cow. I had some good conversations with the entire family. 
The homestay overlooks the family's Apple Orchard. A portion of their orchard has been preserved as a pine forest. Each floor has one large, spacious room with its own staircase, ensuring privacy for all. The rooms are well-insulated and well-kept. Working desks, seating areas, and high-speed Internet access are all available, allowing you to work as efficiently as possible, if one wishes.
I would wake up to a magnificent sunrise, not to be missed if one stays there. You can even see it from the bed if you have booked the top most rooms. Even if partially covered, the sun set is as beautiful. One can even enjoy daily sun bathing on the terrace of their residence which is right in front of the homestay bldg. and is easily accessible.
As a traveller I appreciated the place and its scenery so much that I didn’t want to leave. I took daily morning and evening walks in the picturesque surrounding villages, which are flanked by apple orchards. And the other highlight is milking the cow activity which is a ritual at dawn daily. The fresh cow milk is super tasty even if one is not a milk drinker, one must try.
It’s a family run humble homestay so please leave your city demands back if you want to truly enjoy & treat yourself to a beautiful mountain village life experience. Trust me you won’t regret.
I will cherish every moment of this stay and wish to be back soon.

mesmerising Village homestay at Talai

This was my first experience with an homestay and my first workcation. The homestay is in a very serenic location. A lovely view of sunrise and uncle's farm. Balcony from which every morning I stepped out, Dashu would wish be good morning. It is away from the loud hustles of the city. Each morning we would wake up, and start walking towards fagu which is 3 km from the homestay through the beautiful way accompanied by the happy dogs of the mountains. After a whole day of sight seeing somedays to Cheog, some to Deshu peak and shimla. Coming back to Ritik bhaiya'samazing maggi to which he has a secret receipe, which he never tells 🤭. Then at night, going down to the common area, and having aunty's special dinner every night. As pretty and elegant as she is, her food is heaven in the mountains. She cooked pataanda, lota ( local dishes), delicious Rajma. And every time she served us you could see this love and care in her eyes of a Mother. How we worship annapurna in our culture, after the women of my household, she is the one alike. Then came talking through uncle's anecdotes every night, listening to uncle's stories and the way he tells them, still plays in the back of my head. The family had a way about themselves loving caring, It is indeed a home away from home and a family away from family.❣

A home away from home

Have taken care of me and my brother as a part of their family. Very warm welcoming. Mr Suresh Sharma and his family Gave us a beautiful experience of mountains. Always felt like a home away from home. The place is calm very good for Work for home people. They provide good internet connection. mesmerising view from the balcony and mostly the heritage looks of the cottage. The host Suresh Sharma ji his wife and his son ritik Sharma they are simply amazing people, so helpful and polite. We Enjoyed our long stay fully. Will highly recommend this place. North moon home stay is a very beautiful small village with amazing scenic beauty. Aunty Ji is cooked fantastic food kudos to all Sharma family. Can't wait to go back again
