One of the Best Homestay in Coorg jungle

I am an  Indian Forest Service officer, happily retired and now  travelling across the country-covering the attractive destinations located  near major forest types of India.This time it was the Tropical wet evergreen forests of Western ghats in Waynad,Kerala & Coorg, Karnataka. Fortunately, we  landed at this homely, cozy and comfortable Green pastures homestay near Somwarpet,Coorg.Thanks to reviews on TripAdvisor. We enjoyed the best of the hospitality from the very affable and caring hosts Hemantha K S and Tripula.Rooms and bathrooms were impeccably  clean and very well maintained. We enjoyed variety of  delicious traditional cuisines.It is a serene place amidst coffee plantations in the lap of nature.Great place to relax and fathom the beauty of plants, learn all about coffee, listen chirping of birds and immerse in beautiful sunset at a peak closeby. One of the memorable stay which we will cherish for long.

One of the best homestay in Coorg,Karnataka

One of the best places to visit around Bangalore. Located amidst serene coffee estates, this sleepy homestay will help you relax, rejuvenate and calm your inner self down. 

The host Mr Hemanth is a warm nice person, and makes you feel home. The food they serve is out of the world, using simple ingredient, leaves you wanting for more. 

Our search for a homestay, which we can visit any number of times whenever we have >2-3 days at our disposal, has come to an end

Coorg at its best

A family get together which will be remembered for a long long time!! An impromptu plan landed us in one of the best homestay experiences ever. I personally am an avid traveller and prefer home stays to fancy hotels and resorts because the idea is to feel like home away from home. And Green Pastures is beyond expectations! Hemanth and Tripula, are the best hosts. Extremely warm and welcoming. Very rarely we find stays which are wholesome. Be it the hygiene, location, food and most importantly hospitality. This place has it all. Absolutely recommend Green Pastures to all those who are looking for a serene stay, some lip smacking local delicacies and ever smiling hosts. We were extra lucky to get the habba Oota as well. :) Tripula has magic in her hands. Every meal was served with love. Not to forget the helps at the stay Mallesh and the other girl. Both of them were very well behaved and helpful. In all, my family had a wonderful time and we take back some great memories,  we’d love to be back again. Kudos to Hemanth and Tripula. You guys are doing a brilliant job! Well done and best wishes!! 


A weekend Family Getaway❤️

Green Pastures homestay in Somwarpet, Coorg, presents a quintessential homestay experience, aligning seamlessly with the glowing endorsements shared by fellow reviewers. However, what truly distinguishes Green Pastures is the remarkable authenticity, genuine hospitality, and profound amiability exuded by its hosts - Hemanth and Tripula. Their approach transcends the conventional host-guest dynamic; it feels as though we are reconnecting with dear old friends from the very first exchange of words. This camaraderie persists until we return to the comfort of our own homes - remarkable, but true! They even take the time to ensure our safe journey home. Hemanth and Tripula are truly exceptional individuals. This review will not be complete if I do not mention the sumptuous meal we had at the homestay along with homegrown coffee (the property is in the middle of their coffee estate). I very strongly suggest people to experience staying here for a couple of days (preferably during the monsoon) and soak in a very unique and remarkable experience. Last but not least, the host was very kind to courier a shawl we accidentally left in our room during our stay. 

Amazing experience!

Outstanding hosts who are very caring and accommodating.. Very neatly maintained property, delicious finger licking local food with variety of dishes, great wifi, enjoyed the bon fire, near by sunset points were great, overall a perfect place for a peaceful family vacation

Sweet homestay experience

We were a family of 8 and had stayed in green pastures, Its wonderful place to stay and you are assured with scrumptious yet healthy and simple food. Thanks to Hemant for his amazing hospitality and Tripula for her mouth watering food.

Best place for family! As well as people who are planning for staycation as we have good broadband connectivity available too!

Cozy and amazing stay

We were fortunate to be here for our new year family reunion.  Hemanth & Tripala took care of us & we had the best of food, very ergonomically designed rooms & furniture, fireplace with safety in mind, beautiful elevation ( 3900 ft above MSL), & more than all the friendly staff.  
The food was a combination of continental & local with the best of fish, chicken & mutton dishes in local style ( thanks to tripala) to add the freshly brewed coffee from their own farm.  
Hemanth was kind to drive us to his coffee estate where we interacted with the coffee picker’s, also educated us on the coffee pumping & processing.  
We highly recommend this for a family & a total of three large rooms & 9-12 persons can easily stay comfortable.  

Hemsmth’s mom also brews diverse wines viz., passion fruit, coffee, bird eye chilli( yes you heard it right) & ginger. 
We also got the best of honey.  

Overall the 8 of us had great time sailing from 20022 to 2023 & It was very kind of them to have sent our favourite cake for the celebration.

Home away from home- the flavours of Coorg hospitality

We had read the glowing reviews, but were still blown away by the superb location, and the amazing range of top-quality vegetarian cuisine cooked by Ms Tripula, the wife of the owner, Mr. Hemanth. We were a group of 7 family members, who spent  2 memorable days, pampered by the owners and their cheerful and hard-working helper, Pooja. Hemanth was a mine of information on coffee, not surprising since Green Pastures is on his coffee estate, and provided extensive information on Tala Cauvery and other sights. My advice would be to limit sight-seeing, and spend maximum time at the resort to thoroughly enjoy the ambience and serenity of this place. Our thanks to the owners for giving us a taste, albeit too brief, of a heavenly respite from the routine.

Heavenly Homestay

A serene place!! Very cozy and relaxing home stay. Good connectivity by road to nearby tourist spots, humble staff, hygenic and well maintained rooms, lush green garden and landscape, bonefire, very good internet facility, delicious home cooked food by Tripulaji. The host, Mr. Hemant always ready to help  and guide the guest. All in all, Green pasture homestay gives a relaxing and rejuvenating experience!!
