When it's good, you have to say so. And when it's fabulous, too. Which is the case with this hotel, which is certainly the best value for money in the city.

The manager and his team are adorable - but that's very often the case in Ladakh. The hotel is the quietest I've stayed in Leh, a town where stray dogs spend their days sleeping and their nights barking: here, I heard absolutely no noise whatsoever, it was super quiet. Also, the insulation in the rooms seems very good - traditional beamed ceilings. The shower is one of the best I've had in 3 weeks in India. The room is heated (quietly, by a modern heater), which is also not the case everywhere in Leh. The decoration of the rooms is elegant and sober: no white neon which is omnipresent in India, a bay window overlooking the terraced garden lets the light in very nicely. The breakfast is excellent - and included.

In short, the best for a price that defies all competition.

The best deal in Leh

We stayed with Sia-La Guesthouse for seven nights throughout our Ladakh journey, and we recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, clean, and professional place to stay. We organized many activities - taxis, tours, etc - through their management and found their recommendations and drivers excellent. 

I'd recommend staying in the ground floor rooms, as they have attached porches that are quite enjoyable for breakfast and coffee. Additionally, call the business directly to reserve a room - the price we negotiated in person was much better than the cost online. 

The Guesthouse is also located a very short - 5 minute - walk through a safe area to the major shopping and dining areas of Leh. There are closer guesthouses in town, but this is just far enough away that the noise is unnoticeable. 

For those concerned about water, Sia-La has a kitchen with a water filter. We could go down and refill our bottles, CameBak's, etc., frequently with no issue. 

We also were able to leave some of our larger bags and items when we left for an expedition - and everything was as expected when we returned. Being able to leave luggage with trust is essential, and Sia-La did not disappoint us. 

Our recommended Guesthouse in Leh

Nice comfortable hotel at the center of Leh. You can reach Leh market in just 5 min walk. Really cheap compare to other budget hotels and the food also good. Hotel owner is this nice old lady talks so softly and gives you extra discount.

Affordable and convenient stay LEH IN

Its a very comfortable place. Staff is proactive and provides anything you need in quick time. Food is tasty. They have a flower and vegetable garden and that's a treat to watch. Manager helped us to check oxygen saturation and blood pressure and that was really helpful as one of our friends was taken sick.

Nice comfortable hotel at good location

One of the top guest houses in Leh. Very close to main market. Comfortable rooms with heating option in winter. Very big area and lawn. Only drawback is a very small road entrance but rest of the facilities compensate for it. WiFi is also decent though some rooms might not get good signal.

Comfort stay at Sia La

My friends visited this place recently and have nothing but the best feedback. Firstly, it’s pet friendly so all the better for us who worry about our furry family. Secondly and very important; Arifa is one of the best people we’ve met. She not only ensured the stay was pleasant and the best but also arranged a surprise Birthday arrangement at the property. She was very thorough and extended the best possible help anyone can to ensure you feel happy and special. The food was homely and everything else about the place is lovely. Couldn’t have asked for anything better!! Please do visit the place whenever you’re in Leh and I am sure no one will be disappointed.

Siala guest house- one of the best places in Leh

We family of 3 reached the Sia la guest house in Leh Ladakh on April 8th 2022. A comfort triple bed room was awaiting us. The staff was very nice. The hotel provides breakfast and dinner. Lunch is available on request. The room was very comfortable. Heating facility was there. Hot water was available in washroom. Wash room was clean. The staff were very friendly. They were cleaning our cloths regularly for a fees. The guest house is located  walking distance from main market of Leh. Arifa the manager of the guest house planned our visits I and around Leh. She planned the cabs as well. One thing to note only postpaid mobile phones willl work in Ladakh. Prepaid mobile phones willl not work..overall we stayed for 7 nights at the guest house and it is a memorable experience..

Awesome little gem in Leh

We stayed at Sia-La for three nights in July-Aug. It was a lovely experience from the start. Arif and his full team (including Arifa) took good care of us, from providing comfortable and clean rooms to organizing a good car and dependable driver for sightseeing and traveling to Nubra and beyond. The place is peaceful, quiet with a lovely garden. Yet it is near the main market and shopping and food area.

Fab Stay

Thanks to arif and his team. Specially to mr vijay and cook santosh. I stayed all together total 6 nights in our 12 days trip to ladakh.
Guest house is very nicely built and has very comfortable rooms in very reasonable price.
Best thing is it is just 600m away from main leh market.we choose four bed room.
Since we wished to try other local restaurants like lamayuru and gesmo . Sia la was very well located. this restaurants were merely 150m away. So each evening we used to visit market either for shopping or dinner.chaska maska is also very good choice for South Indian dishes ( our favourite). In sia la too santosh prepared very homely dinner for us.
Wifi was very good and there was never a running hot water issue.
I traveled with wife and two kids ( 5 + 9 years). had apprehensions related to mountain sickness but due to stretched trip it were not a issue. Thanks to arif for timely advices for many places we were able to finished a memorable trip.
I will suggest rooms should be booked directly through owner (arif- 9419178100), some time there are  network issues in leh too, so customer can drop whatsapp request to arif ( which were always replied promptly. They have fixed rates but those are very reasonable compare to booking through online travel sites.
Never forget to visit main SECMOL school (real sonam wanchuck school), in my view it is best visit near leh.
Try to stay either maan or marek village for pongong tso lake and choose waning moon period ( no moon day is best) for star gazing at tso moriri lake.
Never forget to see marmots near tso moriri lake ( before 10 kms, near itbp bridge), our kid enjoyed alot. All thanks to mr arif.
