Room on the roof was where we stayed. Since our planned lodgings had a visitor who became ill and wanted to extend their stay and utilise a room, we found ourselves unexpectedly staying overnight at this guesthouse.

The room was great, and you could see both the palace and a mosque from the windows. The room was comfy, the bathroom was great, and everything was immaculate. The staff here is fantastic and really helpful. After a long day of sightseeing, you might unwind in the garden. Definitely recommending it to others.

Lovely guesthouse, great hospitality and the views are fanstastic

This is a lovely guest house in the centre of Leh just minutes from the market place. The service we received here was first class. The staff and the owner were excellent. The food was a real highlight, great variety and all good. They even do an English breakfast. Guests from other hotels were coming to the garden to eat as the food was good and not overpriced. Lovely relaxed atmosphere in the garden with all the different travellers. Best of all, the owner took us on a tour around and gave us an unforgettable experience. Lovely place to stay. 5 stars.

Lovely guest house, great service.

Beautiful and spacious room with hot water and working shower, Very nice garden with best Indian kitchen. Very honest prices. Gentle staff. Calm and central location just around the corner from the main market area

Perfect stay in central Leh

unforgettable experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here due to the owner MR. Sonam. He made our stay comfortable and he arranged our visit to other places like Turtuk, Pangong, tso morori and Nubra. He made sure we have a good driver and he also booked our hotels at above places which were also really good. This place is worth the money.
The guest house is located very close to Leh market. The rooms are very cozy and comfortable, hot water was available throughout due to solar panels. 
Mr. Sonam explained us to take it easy for the first two days, he checked our oxygen levels on both the days and made sure we were feeling fine. Mr. Sonam is the speciality of this place.

Amazing stay and awesome service

I’ve tried to stay here many times, always at last minute and it’s always booked. The owners of this place are kind and smart, they hire the best and keep everything running smoothly.

I booked from the USA 2 months before arriving. Was a bit more expensive than the other places I was considering but I wanted to stay once. I didn’t realize at the time but I’d booked their Bollywood penthouse cabana. Wow! Was a very private room on the roof, gorgeous well appointed suite! Great light and the best bed I had in Ladakh. Ask for ‘bliss’ room if you’re interested.

Sonam and family are extremely knowledgeable about Leh - especially the growth and business history and he shared some great stories with me. An absolute gentleman and a pleasure to spend time with.

In my opinion if you’re in leh to recover and resupply you want to be close to the mall, this place is great.

There’s a reason it’s always booked...

The owner Sonam and his family and staff were very helpful in adjusting our itinerary and making our stay perfect. We stayed there for about a week in between all our trips; it’s the best base you need in Leh! Very central location and extra clean rooms.
Get the big room on the roof if possible! 

Clean central location and very insightful owner!

This is our favorite place to stay in Leh. Ideally situated 100m from the city's Main Bazaar, Mentokling has spacious and comfortable rooms. Sonam, the owner, is a wonderful person, extremely helpful, honest and very knowledgeable about Ladakh.

I'd advise to always go through him to book a car, a motorbike or other services, we used his recommendations several times and he always recommended honest and competent service providers.

I would recommend him without the slightest hesitation.

Fantastic place

We stayed for two nights and it was so cozy. The owner is absolutely helpful. So we came back the day after! Nice and clean. The water is hot which is great in such a cold weather. Thank you mentokling!

Wonderful assistances

We stayed in Mentokling for 4 days. The rooms were huge, comfortable and clean. The restaurant serves great food and they have movie screenings from time to time. Sonam the owner was warm and very helpful. We had to return to the airport the day after to collect our luggage which has been delayed and Sonam offered to collect it for us. He is also very observant and checked to see if we were ok when we did not leave our room the whole day. 

Not only that, they did not have rooms for us for the second leg of our trip but Sonam took the trouble to search an alternative hotel for us and even offered to drive us over. 

Truly the best service ever! We will definitely stay here again if we ever make a trip back!
