We loved our stay at Mollys Nest, food, accommodation, beach, and most of all the lovely helpful friendly staff. The traditional-style bungalows are with concrete floors and the woven pressed bamboo, varnished, upper walls and ceiling, giving a cosy rural feel. Electric fans, private shower room and Western-style toilet within the bungalow, seating terrace outside to watch the sunset or enjoy breakfast 'at home'. The restaurant has a wide range of dishes and are very helpful when asked for food allergies etc. A perfect spot to catch the sea breeze, watch the tide change and the river birds - colourful kingfisher, white heron. eagles and crows.... Some lovely thoughtful touches eg the bowl of water for foot washing outside the bungalow, bottled drinking water delivered daily, help with taxis, trips etc if needed. We will be back!!

Beach shack on a quiet beach

If you are looking for an unpretentious beach shack, with its own private porch area, in a quiet location with nice staff then look no further. 

There is direct access to the beach over a small wooden footbridge, and views of the ocean from the porch of the deluxe shack we stayed in. 

The food was nice, especially the omelette for 180 Rs, and pancakes and fruit. Everything is washed/cooked in mineral water. 

We did laundry at a cost of approximately 13Rs per item (though we had lots of small items). 

Good location. Only a twenty minute walk up the beach to arambol (all the hippies) and fifteen minute walk to Ashvem (quieter). If you walk towards the road, there are number of small shops, bars, restaurants and massages. If you want ice cold soda water pushpa’s mini mart is the spot. 

They will also clean the room every three days. 

Suresh the owner organised our transport from the airport with a reliable driver in a large car for 1700Rs and also our trip on to meet family in Panjim for 1100Rs. 

Cons:

- Occasional cockroach in the bathroom - but to be expected 
- Fan was not strong enough to keep cool
- No seating area in the room - but why sit inside when you can sit outside 
- Palm tree blocking part of the view from the restaurant 
- Would have liked a gate on the entrance to the porch to keep out mangy dogs while we relax on the porch
- The property is also a public footpath from the road, and in the front along the river, with outsiders using it to access the beach. A lady was able to beg for money from the footpath while we were fully in our room which was annoying. 
- Wish there was a shower coming off the beach
- Wish there was 

These are minor negatives and if you are looking for a chilled out beach shack look no further.

I really enjoyed my time at Molly's Nest. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. The place is right next to the beach. The huts are comfortable though I think overpriced for what's being offered, but then the place is popular and people are willing to pay. My only disappointment (not the fault of Molly's Nest) was the loud sound of beats coming from the nearby Riva Nightclub which disturbed my first day (I went to Mandrem for quiet time) but the rest of the days were fine.

Kursusophold

It's always a pleasure to eat in the restaurant at Molly's Nest when we are in Mandrem. Overlooking the beach, varied menu, efficient and friendly staff and of course delicious freshly cooked food.  Over many years we've enjoyed  breakfasts, lunches and evening meals with their prawn curry being our absolute favourite.  The only reason that we don't actually stay there is because we stay with friends nearby but we have seen the rooms which are clean and comfortable with two new rooms built on a platform giving stunning views of the beach.   Suresh, the owner, endeavours to ensure that his guests are well looked after and if you are visiting Mandrem then I'm sure that you wouldn't be disappointed with a meal or stay at Molly's Nest.

Superb Restaurant

I booked a room with a sea view. "Overlooking the sea" was the promise. I got a sideways glimpse of the sea from my porch. The room faced a noisy kitchen. Manager told me that that was his idea of a sea view. 

The entryway to the hotel is an unlit dirt road where pigs rummage around the trash. The reviews saying that this hotel is on the beach... well, it's very close to the beach. To reach the beach you have to cross a small body of water with litter strewn around its banks. 

I found much nicer places at half the price nearby. The food was ok and the staff were friendly. The place is generally unkempt and unloved. You can do much better in Mandrem. Beach is nicer a little further south.

Sea view might just be a sideways glimpse of the sea

Location : Excellent !! Hotel is located right on the beach.. Since Mandrem beach is very very less crowded (compared to Baga-Calangute), it's very peaceful & amazing atmosphere here. They have also provided complementary beach beds. There are mostly foreigners on this beach. You will feel like a foreign location.

Rooms : Clean rooms having Wooden infrastructure (Different experience from regular hotels)

Since location of hotel is somewhat remote, you may need special transport arrangement. We hired a bike from Baga to reach there and returned it back after our stay of 2 days.

The Beach Stay !!

The place has changed since the photos on here - there is a much larger restaurant and we were lucky enough to be offered the choice between an ac room or ceiling fan room above the restaurant with a fantastic view of the beach. We chose the latter! 

The staff have been very helpful with all of our requests. After a day or so of exploration we actually ended up spending several days eating and relaxing at mollys nest as there was no need to go anywhere else.

Food has been delicious with lots of choice on the menu, rooms are nice and beach area quiet - only a short walk to arambol if you want some more people or activities.

Have had a really relaxing few days and would definitely stay here again when we come back to Goa.

Best place to stay in Mandrem

Can’t say it enough, this hotel was such a cute cottage type of resort.  It was quite far from the airport (1 1/2 hr away) & just a bit difficult to find but to go all the way to North Goa was well worth it.  The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms weren’t the greatest but didn’t matter.  We had hot water and rooms were clean.  As soon as we stepped out we could see the beautiful beach.  Cross the bridge and you’re on the sand.  It is much more quite in this area as there are more retreats in this area.  We walked along the beach at night, just be mindful of the barking dogs, lol.  The staff was quite helpful and very nice.  Felt pretty safe to walk around at night time. There are a couple of shops in the area so it’s good to roam around and to talk to people.  Hotel is located in a very peaceful area, spent only two nights but I could definitely spend a whole week there.
